BoiJen, I attended a session by SirTop and slave bonnie and I have to agree, they are really quite wonderful! Their event really sounds like a great one! Hope you get out to Thunder next year, would love to meet you!

Although I've been to clubs across the country and smaller BDSM events, I've never been to a large one. Are these primarily couples' affairs or can you actually hookup there? My subs are long distance and not always able to travel.

Large conferences are for anybody and everybody who wants to attend. Often, there are several classes being presented at the same time, so if you are wanting to focus on play technique, you can chose classes focusing on that rather than those that are geared for a dynamic.

As for 'hooking up' I would have to ask if you are referring to meeting people, S/m play, or sex? The last of which, I wouldn't have a proper answer for you because that is not what I have in mind when I attend. On the first, I think they are great opportunities to meet people that you may not have the opportunity to do so otherwise. For example, Thunder was a great opportunity for Me to meet the OP and others in a central location as I was driving through. For S/m play, yes, it's absolutely possible, as I was fortunate enough to find a willing bottom. I don't really recommend not making an arrangement prior to going. That can be something of a crap shoot. Flagging can help but there's no guarantee.

I am just organizing my 4th year of TEASE - a BDSM Camping Educational Convention - slotted for July 8 ~ 12, of 2010.
