To me, BDSM is not about sex of scening, it is about power exchange and control - so if i am owned by someone regardles of if we "play" it is still to me BDSM..... if i am controled it is BDSM - maybe not playing but the control is the key point.

but, that is not what you said when you asked zaphira
quote:

No BDSM activities at all? I have to admit that confuses me a little as I feel that submission/slavery itself is part of BDSM

zaphira is confused now as to what you were actually asking/saying to her

Hmmm to clarify... I was confused by the no BDSM activities because to me simply belonging to and obaying someone is in itself a BDSM activity -

I think that is clearer LOL

Yep I think were on the same page just different definitions :D

What rules do you have/have to follow around the house? Are there any that seemed like a good idea but weren't (being naked all the time with snoopy neighbors, or frequent surprise visitors)?

Master and I aren't living together at the moment so right now it's just basic rules and then when I move out to him he's said that there will be a rule chart made up depending on the needs he sees on a daily basis.

Right now the rules are:

To undress when I get home (I live alone and rarely have visitors) I'm allowed to put on sweat pants and a tee shirt if someone does happen to knock on the door. But as soon as they are gone I must disrobe again.

After work I must make dinner (If I worked that morning) or get a light snack (if I get home at night) before coming up to my laptop.

I must keep the house tidy, the laundry done and the dishes as well.

WHen I get home I must log into my messenger, let Master know i'm home and turn on my camera

i must ask permission for treats such as candy or ice cream

I must have at least one meat protein with one meal a day. I suffer from anemia and take perscription iron, this is one of the harder rules as I don't particularly like meat, I fought this one for a long time.

I must do daily personal hygeine every day, shower, brush my teeth twice a day, shave all body hair but head and eyebrows ect

Oh another difficult rule for me is to take a nap if I'm tired, even if my chores don't get done that day. I have a habit of going without sleep for days so Master made the nap rule and the bedtime rule. I must be in bed and relaxing by 11 and asleep by 12 if he's not home.

No masturbation or orgasming without permission

no panties without permission, even during my cycle. I must ask to wear panties before my cycle starts.

when we are together:

I must wait to sit until given permission

I must wait to eat until he starts or he gives me permission to start first

I must ask permission to sit or lay on the bed next to him

that's all I can think of at the moment

Quick reply:

Obey is the number one rule. It pretty much covers everything. So much of my life is controlled by his directives or actions that it is hard to come up with a list of rules. Everything is pretty much covered either by advanced directive, restricted access, or flat out rule. He is into micromanagement but prefers many things just be governed by advanced directive or restricted access vs him having to be right there to grant or deny permission.

blmtrsne -> RE: Rules around the house (7/19/2009 6:44:29 PM)

My slave has instructions that free up my time: he's the first to get out of bed, makes the the-table, cleans up, makes shure I have what I need before he takes a shower (preparing a nice warm bath for me at the end), so he can do the shopping (bread, meat and cheese), ...
Another instruction is to be discrete. I dicide when to expose him as my property. When I'm at home, my visiting girlfriends notice anyway because I tend to command him firmly, but in the outside, he knows a wish is in fact a command.
We're in a 24/7 relationship, so most of the time it's like any other couple except that I decide about everything I like. My slave wants to serve and obbey, so it's very well possible in this way.
And of course there's another rule: no discussions, and always think about how you could please your Mistress. He knows my habbits and surprises me positively.

LadyPact -> RE: Rules around the house (7/19/2009 6:55:28 PM)

Quick reply.

Understand that My collared sub does not live with Me, but there are certainly rules for those periods when he is staying with Me.

Participation in rituals is a requirement.  If I instill a ritual or a protocol, it will be followed until such time that I deem it no longer necessary or effective.  My sub can request that a ritual be changed or dropped, but the final decision on such matters rests with Me.

My sub is *not* permitted to play his music when I am first waking up.  (Trust Me, if you heard it when you were waking up, you'd make this rule, too.)

My sub is required to attend all lifestyle events that I attend unless his work requires him to be elsewhere.

My sub is required to attend submissive support groups when possible.

My sub does not sit on furniture without permission.  He is permitted to sit at My feet.

My sub does not eat before I have taken the first bite of a meal.

If My sub is in the house when I am coming home, he is to be kneeling, eyes lowered, with My drink in his palm when I enter the door.

My sub is to request My leave any time he must go to another room.  This does include the bathroom.

My sub is required to further his education of BDSM related activities.

My sub is required to bring any concerns that he has regarding our dynamic to Me.  There is no permission for him to hide his concerns.

My sub is under full disclosure.  There is no option for him not to tell Me the truth regarding any matter.

I hope these examples have helped you.

DesFIP -> RE: Rules around the house (7/19/2009 7:00:32 PM)

Lady P, I can't help it. What kind of music does clip listen to?

LadyPact -> RE: Rules around the house (7/19/2009 7:43:35 PM)

Des, as clip will say himself, he has a very eclectic collection.  Have you ever heard "The Hampster Dance?"  This tune is like the chipmunks on crack.  (Sorry Mods.)  Also, there are a number of Weird Al selections that should *not* be heard before morning caffeine.  I don't mind his barber shop or the other tunes, but some of them will almost throw one into some type of transition shock.

Thank you for your question.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Rules around the house (7/19/2009 9:17:19 PM)

I don't have rules, and I never will. There's a few things I do not do out of consideration for him, and because it's not important to me, like play with others, but we do not consider that a rule.

Yeah, "The Hampster Dance", first thing in the morning, would make me want to throw my entire bed at the person playing it.  So I totally empathize with you there.

kiwisub12 -> RE: Rules around the house (7/20/2009 4:58:55 PM)

Clothes off as soon as i get home - unless nonlifestyle people are present.
No shutting doors - including the bathroom.
Ask permission for food or activities.
I have permission to use the furniture.
I am to address him as Sir, unless we are in the company of vanillas.

and this all may sound very structured, but it seems very natural   -  and i am not the sort of person to try to circumvent rules seruptiously.

My Sir also said that he would never do anything to embarass me in  public or in front of my family.
My Sir has said that he didn't want a whole bunch of rules- because then he would have to police them, and he was too lazy a man for that! [:D]

daddysliloneds -> RE: Rules around the house (7/20/2009 6:21:36 PM)

all these rules around the house that all these people have is a good reminder as to why i don't live with anyone[:'(] when they start paying my bills and/or i become a born-again child, then i might consider the whole house-hold rules thing. everything i do for him is common sense and/or something that i do to keep him happy...

it doesn't have to be ear-marked as a rule for it to happen as he desires.

you would have never let my brother live till age 12, then.

he would get up and pop on the 45 of "dead skunk in the middle of the road" at 6 am because *he* was awake.

or ray stevens "the streak".

or the ever popular "they're coming to take me away"....or the flipside of that one, which was the same song played in reverse.

kitten, shuddering at the memories
