I suggest this is done intentionally to misdirect in much the same way that a group of conspirators assembled at Jekyll Island, Georgia almost 100 years ago today to frame up plans for a Private Central Bank.  Knowing there was no appetite in the U.S. for a Private Central Bank, the proposed legislation was dubbed the Federal Reserve Act to give the intended Private Central Bank an air of being ‘Federal’, or, ‘of the people’ and being in possession of reserves - when in fact it was neither FEDERAL nor did not posses ANY reserves. Deceptions like this have more recently come to be known as the HALLMARKS of American banking and finance.  Why is anyone surprised?  American corporations did learn from the deceptive best, didn’t they?  This is a significant contributing factor as to why the international financial community has grown so displeased and distrustful of American finance. You see folks, the truth about Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley is that BOTH of these institutions are MAJOR players in the precious metals futures markets – but apparently only at the Holding Company Level where we are not permitted to see the size of their holdings and the influence they exert on the market.  That information remains another one of the Federal Reserve’s dirty little secrets. This is why the New York Commodities Exchange [COMEX] has already taken provisions – CHANGING THE RULES - to allow for the delivery of ‘paper’ exchange-traded-funds in lieu of delivering physical bullion.  The commodities exchanges are “supposed to be” mechanisms engaged in the price discovery of physical bullion – not paper alternatives. The Federal Reserve has ALWAYS known the true state of the unfolding derivatives debacle.  They fostered and protected its growth; Alan Greenspan used to claim that derivatives innovations gave the U.S. financial system “flexibility”.  When the false economies brought on by artificial derivatives pricing finally sunk the American financial house, an accounting change was mandated to make insolvent banks appear, for accounting purposes - they are rolling in dough.  Rest assured, American banks are rolling in something – but it’s not dough.   /snip

----------------------------------

So the COMEX- a place where folks order gold/silver, now that we reached delivery time- the contracts are settled by shares in an ETF.   IE- paper gold.    You may recall me mention busting the COMEX- this is a clever way of hiding it.

The COMEX hurried up and borrowed a bunch of gold from the Canada mint- leaving it short.

The problem is- that with almost anything these days- do you own it- or was the item sold to several people and there is not enough to go around.

The FED does not want an audit.   Yet- YOU are in the hook for 14 trillion $ and counting.

ANyhow-  razzle dazzle- dippity do.   Now you see it- now you don't.

No one is interested in this loony, fringe, tin-hat, "sky-is-falling" conspiracy theorist crapola. Everyone knows that your cite-source is just another pot smoking, libertarian gold bug site. If our monetary system is so bad, how did we manage to build a world-class empire with it? The entire free world values our money! So what if the Fed has recently created a few more trillion dollars? They wouldn't have been in charge for the past 96 years if they didn't know exactly what they're doing. Anyone with half a brain knows that they have the best interests of the citizenry at heart.

When are you going to set your mind straight, and fall into the left vs. right paradigm along with the rest of us? Besides, if you don't fall into line, you'll eventually be ostracized... assuming that you haven't been already. Remember, the majority can't possibly be wrong.

Consider this: while the left and right are at war, like good Americans, strengthening the checks and balances that are so important to our country's well-being... you continue to peddle abstract fantasies designed by those who hate our freedom and seek to weaken the very fabric of our society. Whether an issue is cause or whether it is effect isn't nearly as important as honoring and respecting the traditional institutions that have made this country so great.

God bless America!

That seems to indicate that your post was just a bit sarcastic, which is encouraging.

My point to Hunky would be more like we already know. The greatest economy on Earth was formed something like a Ponzi scheme, and we know that it is nearing the end of it's life cycle. There is no reason to reiterate it a thousand times, reporting hundred year old news as if nobody ever heard such a thing.

What to do now ? Even the people who are supposed to know the answer do not. All we can do is try to stockpile some goodies and keep our powder dry.

Subfever,

Everyone who has been a member of CM for more than 28 minutes is aware that PaHunk's posts tend towards extremism on occasion....they're also equally clear that he has occasionally a less than fully informed data stream, but he also listens when corrected.

He happens to be, however, in this case, more than somewhat correct, even as his "facts" may be slightly jaded.

His opine is one of many who believe the Fed to be unconstitutional, corrupt, base, illegal....etc....ad infinitum.

There's a few decent arguments for this....politics and (your) flag waving rarely fill the bill.

The truth is, the Fed has corrupted the money supply since its inception.

There are multitude (valid, well thought out) youtube videos (assembled by increasingly concerned and somewhat rational people), certainly thousands of websites (www.shadowstats.com would be a great beginning point) for you to peruse.

Don't be terribly concerned by your own (current) lack of knowledge....be concerned by the fact that you....(hopefully until this very moment) haven't actually given a shit enough to care about your future to dig deep enough to find out that you may have been lied to (tremendously)...and that this post may possibly be enough of a wake up call for you to:

a)  Consider that you may have been wrong (even on an infintesimal level)...and...

b)  To possibly take a look outside of your own current belief systems long enough to say "ya know what....everyone has something to offer....even those who offer things I don't subscribe to".

This point in history might just be an interesting time to consider some new information.

(Just a thought).

FR

I found out a decade ago what Hunky is finding now. At the time I wanted to shout it from every mountaintop. I have determined that this audience is not yet ready for all of this. Therefore I rarely mention it.

Let's not turn this into a usual CM debacle, waiting for a mod to shut the thread down. Nobody has the right to tell Hunky that nobody wants to hear it, and if you can't respond without seeding the plot of the usual "he said she said" shit, why don't you just not bother. I mean it only took a couple of posts this time and I can see it coming. STOP WASTING YOUR TIME.

(Ummmm, that means everybody, I used FR)

And for anyone who wants to tell me that the FED, the GOV, the IRS, the ATF and all them are acting in my best interest, I have this hot hot resort spa and beachfront property in Belin, New Mexico to sell you. But that is not the point.

The point of the OP is that we have been lied to, sold a bill of goods so to speak and bilked out of trillions of dollars of real wealth. Can any sane person deny that in these times ? Tell me how well they did for us, tell me as the sherriff rides up to your door and you are thankful to have wireless because you are now homeless. Tell me how well they have done for you. Tell me how life is better now. Rebut the OP and I don't mean quotes, try it in your own words for a change. I am so sick of quotes I could puke. Tell me how "they" said the system was sound, and how SS was "solvent". Bull fucking shit, an entity like SS must think solely into the future, that is to keep the Ponzi scheme working. One day it will not. Estimates vary on how long, but why are there estimates on that time span in the first place ?

You don't see it because you can't see outside your world, that is fine. But there is alot more going on out there. The OP speaks to what got all this crap started, and to my dismay offers no solution. So OK maybe it is doom and gloom, but if all you want is to live a fantasy life where all the world is beautiful and all the people are wonderful, might I suggest radiodisney.

This is the real world. Sorry bout that.

After 100's of posts expressing my disatisfaction with the state and status quo, I throw out one tongue-in-cheek parody to poke a little fun at the state and status quo worshipers... and you guys thought I was being serious?

Well... I guess a future in comedy is not in the cards for me.

Maybe you should throw in a little more "zing". Of course I have no idea what that means.

It really did sound serious until I got to that one line.
