Perhaps giving the cat an alternate place to sleep. My cat sleeps on my bed on a fleece blanket she claimed within hours of me bringing her home. The fleece blankets are fairly cheap and offer the heat retention that cats are so fond of. Maybe place the blanket next to your feet or if you can stand it for a day or two place it on your feet. She will sleep on it and kind of get used to it. Then move the blanket off to one side and see if she will take to sleeping on that rather than your feet.

Thanks Gauge, this seems a good idea, will add this to the list.

Easy fix.    Fed ex me your drugs and it all gets better.  ;-0~~

lol.

I have injuries and pain bouts- my bed always has alot of pillows in it.   I inherited a cat from my best friend Jim.   I can wake up out of a nightmare- go to the bath room 100 times I also kick alot in bed.   There is an extra throw on the bed- that cat will sleep on that.  He is used to my being now and will yawn over it.

If this is new- the cat or any pet wants to KNOW everything YOU.   That means your scents. Just bunch the covers up and arrange them.   Next lightly kick the cat when it is near your feet....crowding it out-- do not baby talk the cat when he goes near your feet.  If you do you reward him.  A cat loves us to talk to it.  So do NOT talk to the cat when it goes on your feet.   If you arrange it right - the foot twitches- the car falls out of the bed.  (maybe into a wet foot bath)  you are calm- you do not talk.    After a few dips the cat will stop.

No talking?? thats interesting, I would have thought that the consistant No, in a firm voice would be more of a training device...lol to sending you the drugs...

Shelly.. I've found that using a firm voice saying "GIT YER ASS DOWN FROM THERE" (combined with a squirt bottle of plain water) works well with my furbabies....LOL

I'm thinking its the warmth. I would try a heating pad close to your feet at the bottom, left on low, and see if 1) since close to the feet, she wont ignore it and 2)maybe it will help you also. Maybe she will lay on it.

cats also dislike tea tree oil, which i sometimes rub on my face or throat when i got a cold and am in agony.that -sadly to me- keeps my furry gang well away. So if you would put a bit on ur leg then she might prefer to lie onto the upper half of the bed.My girl also has the habbit to put her paws exactly onto my painful fms pressure points on shoulders and rib cage.if i move her she moves back to them.though when i set her onto the floor or further apart she gets the message.they also dont like it when u open a bottle or can of coke and hold it near them.i guess its bec of the fizzling gas.so that would shush her off as well.good luck :o)

It took a little while, but I trained one of my cats to sleep on a certain part of my bed a few years ago.  It was endless nights for a few weeks of stopping her with my hand in front of her whenever she tried to go to a certain spot on the bed (I was training her to sleep on my side, away from my then-husband, who was allergic).

She ultimately did learn and still sleeps there today, so persistence might work for you if you are up to it.

Thankyou all for your suggestions. She spent 2 nights locked out of the room and last night I moved her twice only...I had forgotten the water pistol when in town so that one will have to wait a few more days. Last night was ok and I can live with that, although tonight I am going to put the other sides electric blanket on and see if that will help.......I now understand those who say that cats own their humans....lol the things you do!

i agree with spray bottles working great for the little bastards, maybe rub some cayenne pepper on your feet if all else fails.
