I've recently have placed some pictures of my assistance dog in my profile. The one where he is tugging the cane is the one I am referring to in this post.

Whenever I have company and pictures are taken, no matter whose camera, there are always a couple pictures with "orbs". In the picture I've indicated, there are odd shapped ones and a zig-zag light to the left that hadn't shown in any other pictures before or after.

So I'm asking anyone who is into ghosties and manifestations.. to give their opinion.,

I love your doggler.

Orbs are usually dust particles.

I agree. They are usually just dust particles.

Well, you can tell it's a male dog. He's got ahold of the remote, and doesn't look as though he has any intention of giving it up.

Oh, most definitely ghosts & auras.  Or is that aurae?  Don't listen to these non-believers.  Dust.  HAH!!  My Father married a Huni healer & she knew all about such photographic evidence.  See how the dog's back is arched up toward the ghost above it?  Can you not see the face in that ghostly circle??  Naysayers & non-believers.  Harumph!!

MOST orbs are just dust, or even bugs.  Some are energy balls, though!

First- thank you to all who have contributed to the thread. (and Snickers says thanks for the compliments)

Normally, I would have passed it off as dust if it weren't for the odd shape of them and the lightening bolt type to the left. The camera lense was clean and those taken before and after have no such artifacts.

Yep.. he's a typical male.. One of the things he does is "snitch" the remote from my husband when he falls asleep and brings it to me so I can change the channel. I'll stop here before this goes into a brag session on him.

I do have another picture of my late doxi that has a glow around him.

~FR~

I do paranormal investigations in my area and the "orb" controversy is a huge (friendly) one between myself and another member of the group we run. Frankly orbs do not turn me on all that much when they show up on photos. There are those that abjectly dismiss them as dust or bugs however I am not always quick to dismiss some of the things I have video and photographic evidence of that really kind of defy explanation. While I do agree that the "orb" image can be recreated in a high dust area, I have been in high dust areas that have not turned up ONE orb in many photos and then one shows up in the photo. You would think that in a dusty area there would be so many orbs that the pictures taken would be basically useless but that simply is NOT the case and THAT fact alone gives me pause to think that there MAY be some legitimacy to it. I have several photos containing orbs and one in which you can basically see striations of "energy" emanating from and within the orb. I have since tried to recreate the same photo under many different conditions and I could not do it. Evidence of paranormal activity? No, but I am seeking to explain the photo and I cannot at this point. I also have a series of photos that you can see the orb moving from place to place... many dust particles? Maybe but why only one and why is it so prominent? I simply cannot explain some of these pictures.

We recently had an investigation where there were clear, transparent orbs that gave off their own light moving around the room we had a video camera in. They were not bugs nor were they dust because there were bugs and dust in that room and you can tell the difference between them.

I have seen the "zig-zag" light phenomenon before and I have been able to recreate it by using my digital camera and taking a picture of a bright light in a dark setting and moving the camera as I took the picture. The really odd thing about those pictures is that the photo is a clear, focused photo and the light appears to be "moving" when it really was the camera.

All I can tell you is that you have to make up your own mind about the subject. If you do some investigating online you can find out a great deal about the subject.

Oh... and anyone who wants to see the photos I am talking about I will try to get them uploaded later today if I have time and I will post the links on this thread.

Thanks for your input, Gauge. So, you have no determination at this point? What struck me was the odd shape, as if a bite had been taken out of the orbs. The first thing I thought that it was a thumb smudge..but the photos were taken one after another and no other's showed them.

The pictures taken of the house by the realestate agent when it was on the market showed many orbs :) It's part of why I bought the place. It also backs up to a lake.

I would be stupid if I tried to deny it.
I mean..I'm not really into it, but I would be a fool not to believe in it.

Here are two photos. One is the large orb I was talking about and the other is the light "moving" that I photographed.

Cute dog, cool orbs. I've seen similar orbs described as playful spirit energy. That is the extent of my knowledge :)

I am about an hour or so away from Gettysburg. Gettysburg is considered to be one of the most haunted places in North America and yes, it is very common there.

No one knows exactly what they are. The Dust/bug community is adamant that orbs do not exist or that most orbs are dust/bugs. There are some that call them spirit energy, others call them merely energy. I am somewhere in between. I am quite hesitant to present orb photos to clients as evidence of a haunting because no one really can explain them to my satisfaction. I explain both sides of the argument and let the people decide where their faith lies.

If we have an investigation and the only thing we catch are orbs we do not tell people that their place is haunted. We explain that there may be some activity but what it is we cannot be certain.

I'm an amateur researcher/hunter/investigator.  I believe there could be such things as ghosts/spirits/manifestations of energy.  I refuse to acknowledge orbs, especially around animals, people or outside.  Dust, hairs, dander, dandruff, reflection off of an eyelash or whisker, bugs, dandelion seeds, there are literally thousands of things that could cause an "orb".

Am I saying there's no such thing as ghosts?  Hell no.  I've seen wayyy too much strange shit with my own two eyes that simply can not be explained away, even with the oddest and most far fetched theories.  Some things that recur, and if they happened once, I might be able to say, "well, the light and air pressure and car going by and raindrop sounds all coincided at just the right instance for that to have happened, but it's a one in a gajillion thing, that can simply not be repeated, impossible."  But when it happens again, over and over and over in all kinds of different conditions, no.  Not much I can do to explain it away.

I'm skeptical.  99% of ghosts are pipes banging, old wood floors creaking because of humidity, a stick from the tree falling on the roof, a cat wandering around outside, a mouse or bat in the attic, a curtain rustling from the heat vent, brushing up against a table just enough to make great aunt mabel's old crystal dinner bell ring once, the vibration from someone walking around upstairs causing the rocking chair downstairs to move...  any number of things.  But there's that 1% that's left, that little bit that just can not, no matter how hard one tries, be explained away.  As they say "Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth".

I think I've figured out the two orbs to the right in Snicker's picture. I noticed the odd pattern of the orbs (like they had a bite out them) matched the Roomba you see in the picture. So, I think two of the orbs are the result of the Roomba's reflection in the lense. I'm still pondering the one over his shoulders.
