pahunkboy -> Some NOTES on moderation ~ # (7/13/2009 6:26:11 AM)

Summer is in swing. Politics is ramped up, pollen, mold and pollutants are baking in the heat. People these days are up tight and this is a good time to mention a few things. No one here is paid. Sometimes a point is lost in the post if we post too fast. Don't take an extra 5 seconds to add a "JK" or something the reader needs to understand the gist of the post. We have all done it. So take a few extra seconds before pressing the OK button. On the reader side- per haps the post that has you revved up, maybe the context is off- maybe a digit or word is missing. Let it go or ask the person what the blurb means....even if it is off the board. As an educated group- we can have a better forum then, some other venues. To inspire thought- to grow- to entertain. Which brings me back to that no one here is paid. Just something to think about. No one is perfect, and this brings me back to the summer heat. Anyhow- if it takes 3-5 more seconds to complete the post- then go for it. Don't shortchange others or yourself. Sometimes you can learn from those who present odd ideas. From those you disagree with. Anyhow- if it is not fun then it is work. No one works for free. So just some thoughts. Particularly being that August is not far off. One can also edit a post for context. Just something to consider- and know before any bad will is built up. (I am not a moderator. I just got thinking on recent threads)
