Lesnar ran around the octagon flipping off the Mandalay Bay Events Center crowd with both middle fingers. He shouted at Mir as the challenger sat on a stool trying to regain his equilibrium. Mir stood up and they went sort of nose-to-broken nose before Lesnar cackled with laughter.

In the post-fight interview, Lesnar encouraged the booing fans to “keep going” before continuing to taunt Mir.
No one and nothing was spared. Lesnar even turned his attention to the UFC itself, which paid him an estimated $3 million for the fight, pointing at the giant Bud Light advertisement in the middle of the octagon.

“I’m drinking a cooler full of Coors Light, Coors Light because Bud Light won’t pay me anything.”

Anything for the children at home, big guy?

“Hell, I might even get on top of my wife tonight.”

I don't watch UFC, but I'm not surprised at this sort of behavior. I don't expect human punching bags to act like gentleman.

Boy, this is a shame. I'm not a fan of wrestling at all (hate it, in fact), but this guy had a reputation as a pretty decent kid when he was in college here at the University of Minnesota. I don't know what happened, but it sounds as though somewhere along the way, he lost something of who he was. A significant something.

They're tested in MMA as it is regulated by state athletic commissions. Not to mention his physique, while incredibly impressive, is not what it used to be in his professional wrestling days... And even then, whether or not he used steroids is debatable.

He's doing one of the basics of pro wrestling. He's being a heel(bad guy). If he's a convincing heel, people will pay money to come see him (hopefully) lose. It will make him, his future opponents, and the UFC a lot of money in the process. This tactic has worked over and over again. Ali did the same thing in boxing. He had a big mouth, he had his theatrics, and he could back it up. Now, he's considered one of the greatest of all time. Floyd Mayweather does it today. Ric Flair did it for decades in professional wrestling. In fact, going back to the pro wrestling connection, one of Ali's inspirations for delivering thatrics was the fact that he was a big fan of classic heel wrestlers like Classy Freddie Blassy.

He's causing constroversy. He's talking a big game. He's being a standard pro wrestling heel in a "real" sport and it works. It's always worked. It sells pay-per-views.

Was some of it over the line? Yeah, screwing with a major sponser(Bud Light) wasn't the brightest thing to do. Everything else? Harmless. It'll make everybody involved a lot more money and it will ultimately only entertain the fans.

You've got to take it for what it is. Brock Lesnar is an helluva athlete, he's a tremendous entertainer, and he knows how to sells PPVs. He does, however, need to avoid pissing off major sponsors in the near future. That was ill-adviced, as I've said before. Everything else was just part of the show.

Also, I'm just happy he shut Frank Mir up. Talk about obnoxious. All of his pot shots on Lesnar for his pro wrestling background finally came back to haunt him. The pro wrestling fan in me was happy to see him get taken down a notch. :-)

He was the WWE's chosen one. He chose to leave because of the hellacious travel schedule.

And sure he couldn't make it into the NFL, not because of attitude but because he had next to no experience. He's the biggest thing in MMA right now and most likely no one in the UFC will beat him and he knows that if he persists with these antics it'll mean bigger business.

I will cream myself if the UFC nabs Fedor within the next year and we see him vs Brock.

It is far from savage and has absolutely nothing to do with roids as someone pointed out. After a few weeks of being here I am still astonished at the closed minded judgemental minds here. It is nothing but stereotypical bullshit we ought to be against.

IE: Our relationships are not abusive.

Although I am by their standard a failed performer at MMA I am lucky enough to be in a city where many top performers have come from. I have had the opportunity to get my ass kicked by some of the best trainers in the game. Without a masochistic tendancy or interest in my body I can say it was a beautiful thing.

The intensity, beauty and demannd of total commitment makes all other sports fail on their whimpering ass in comparison. The single dimension of running, kicking, catching or hitting are what make most sports unattractive to me. MMA demands a solid understanding of physiology, geometry, strategy and multiple martial arts that often are a thousand years old with strong cultural roots - chess on the mat.

Every single part of your body can be used as a defense mechanism or a weapon. You learn fighting from your back, knees(awaiting sarcasm), standing, chest, clench. . . Although height and weight will impact a fight size is the least important.

90 minutes on any field is childs play compared to 25 minutes on the mat, when I did it I lasted about 7 . Ya, you get to beat the hell out of someone which has an appeal. But by the time you go semi-pro if that is your only objective most will not last.

I'd venture to say S&M has caused as many long term injuries as MMA(more?). I know all other sports espcially boxing there have been more serious and long term injuries when looking at MMA.

Lastly one of the core tools in the tool box anyone who wishes to be successful in MMA is jujitsu. This study of JJ is an artform; at the rank of black belt it commands an understanding of leverage and geometry. It can be brutal if your pride gets in the way and you fail to tap. However, it is far from violent.

I have maintained a passive interest over the years despite the fact I am not good to keep my child interested.

ALL that rant said. The actions of this man were immature or simply adrenalin rush he expressed in the incorrect way.

Fedor. No one right now can or would beat Fedor. He's simply a completely different class of fighter.

Brock is the one person physically gifted enough though to eventually be able to. But he'll have to not let the instant success get into his head and keep him from training. He's far from a complete fighter at this point, he's just a physical phenom the likes of which the sport has never seen.

That's why I'd like to see the fight in two years. Let Brock work on his standup and submission defense before throwing him to the immovable object.

I agree, I think Fedor would win. However, Fedor is not invincible. It just often looks like he is. No man is invincible, of course. Fedor has had a few close calls and it's a testament to his skill that he's been able to overcome them. He's also, by all accounts, not let the whole mystique of being "Fedor" go to his head. I believe he's said before that he's not unbeatable and he tries not to think about the hype surrounding him.

Lesnar's capable of beating him...I just don't think he could do it if the fight were to happen today.

Well, aside from his proneness to being busted open, he seems about as invincible as one can be.

He out-struck CroCop when he was in his prime and out-grappled Noguera.

He's just scary good, and I wish he could have been exposed to the US audience years ago.
