I don't know. I am not jaded about romance I am just particular. I really cannot see finding it here which is why in my original profile it stated no online romance because I need touch. In my head it seemed a logical way of stating that I don't cyber.

Now THAT is a very reasonable thing to say, That is not to say that one could NOT find love here. I see it all the time. I know Lots of people who found their Life Partner here.

The reason I made my comment is that it seems we have become an on/off switch nation. Instant Gratification has become a necessity. I can see the internet being a wonderful way to get to know someone without having the physical phermone game to deal with. I can get to know how a person sees themselves, I rarely believe that it is who they are but rather how they want to be seen which can tell you a lot about a person.

I believe if we simply took more chances this Online thing would be a lot funner, A whole lot more dangerous sure, but god would it be more fun.

I meet LOTS of people I connect with online the problem for me is bridging the distance gap, no one wants to go to the other, for some it is money and for others it is simply fear but it seems there is always a reason person A can't seem to get to person B.

Missokyst, please do not take my commet as a slight against what you said it was in general at the concept not necessarily your situation.

I miss my early 20's when I met people on Party Chat lines and drove hours to meet someone just for the promise of social interation ..... and usually sex. but I enjoyed the times even when there wasn't any.

lol yes I think the old internet days must have been like the bar scene in the late 70's. Only there once again for me it was the pheremones, the glances, the touch that were the enticement. In the years I have been running my group I have met countless men (and women), I have connected to many intellectually, met and befriended a few but most males initially make the assumption I am looking to play and are quickly set straight. Not surprisingly it is much harder to get that across to male subs.
Here on the net, distance is a killer. I have no intention of moving and I sure don't want to support someone if he moves here and has to find a job. I have seen THAT happen to more than a few of my friends. I like men, I enjoy it when I am in a relationship, but for me those are things that much be nurtured with touch.

LOL....I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way about "be well". I know they have good intentions, but it feels like a pompous dismissal (and I've had it used as a dismissal).

Just wondering what type of an ending is acceptable...

I always say "Take care"...but it is on the same line as "Be well"

FR - I've used "take care, "be well," "till later," "good luck," "hope your week goes well," etc. Anyone spending that much time analysing what the closure means doesn't have enough outside interests. It's nothing more than that: a closure at the end of an e-mail.

I rarely close with any particular closing statement, in fact it is enough in my view that I sign it ~Andrea
I like yours though.. lol I may have to use it.
lol and once again I am not looking nor do I have to keep hope that someday it might happen. I believe I am in an anti hurt mode and it takes me a long time to force past that one!

I think its a good idea to end an email or reply with some sort of ending, which as others have said doesn't require intensive analysis. It means you know the person finished the email without collapsing before the end onto the keyboard and sending the half finished email by mistake!

I have my own method of ending messages the times I've used the phrase good luck in your search can be counted with one hand.

LOL well, I hadn't thought "be well" was cold, so it's nice to hear others point of view. I usually say thanks for looking at my profile but I'm not looking. If the doorknobs continue to cmail me I just ignore (unless I'm feeling sassy, then I'll send them a smart ass response). These days assumption happens a lot IMO. It doesn't hurt to state if you're looking or not looking... it's just communicating about yourself.

Regards In Kink - The general closing. (To date, this is the only one that I've found works for everyone and has not received any complaints.)

Regards In Leather - Used in those cases where I know someone is affiliated with leather in some way when used in a positive sense.

OR

In some way, there has been an attack (not just a disagreement in beliefs) on either Myself, My poly family, My protocols, or some other thing that is being used in an attempt to offend Me when the person in question has no clue about anything related to leather and has only shown their ignorance.

Of course, I kind of liked Holly's, too.

(You know I have too much time on My hands. Otherwise, I have to clean the cabinets for the move.)

After years on this site the things one still learns.

I've used the term, Be Well, many a time in the past., and I more often than not say it leaving the conversation thinking fondly of the person I'm saying it to. Not always, but most of the time.

From me, Good luck in your search, which I've used quite a few times, means, I'm not the one, keep looking. But I do wish you the best even if.
