Who knows why a person has to state that they are "hot"..... Hotness is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe they're trying to convince themselves.

I am attracted to a wide variety of men. There is no one particular look that I go with.... unless, they look like Sam Elliot nom nom

Briefly mixing in bits from many posts
I am enjoying all the posts here.. and I have had some new things to think about..ty
 
I agree that men have as much pressure on them as women in dif areas..wheather body..attractivness etc in terms of "selling" themselves..thus some choose the peacock route as an idea for presentation
 
I think that yes..attractiveness is one of the first things commented on by many because we are visual beings and perhaps men are more visual so bring up this part of themselves as it is something they desire in another.
 
I think too that many do judge harsher than they would judge themselves or not by the same standards.
I agree also that most ppl pass by the heart..and mind parts of ppl in the beginning
and thus may actually miss out on many many good experiences.
 
I think that confidence is a sexy trait and if ANYONE becomes Sam Elliot they can call me immediately.
 
This thread brings to mind a book THE Genisis Factor which purposes that everything we do...is for breeding purposes[:-]
 
I have had hilarilously good discussions into the night with folks about this as we present specific actions and trace it back to yes...breeding or survival of the species.

Actually I don't men are more visual, at least all of them. I am 42 and  I work very hard to stay in shape, healthy and attractive. I am attracted to men that are the same. I think it takes discipline and hard work to maintain a healthy and attractive appearance and I see a lot of women give up after a certain age, and start using terms like BBW etc. That is fine for them, and I mean no criticism, but at 42 I refuse to give up yet.

I never get it why guys do that.

Like loads of Dom will always message me with some self -indulgentrant but the moment they say ATTRACTIVEEEE i seem to find them quite shallow and can never truly fancy them.

It's like they think by them telling us they are atractive that will MAKE them atractive.

I think men do it because they have to try harder to find a mate/lover/whatever...kind of like the male bird doing his little dance in front of the female bird to get her interest. Also,  in most of the animal kingdom the male is the more ornate but not with humans it is considered the opposite (gee what happened there?). If the statistics are true, especially the female submissive to male Dominant ratio, they just have to pull out all the stops and hope it works.....I can only speak from this point of view as it has been my only reference point.

Thank you....a lot of people say that about me.....typically when it's extremely dark outside and they've lost their glasss, or they have a flat tire and mine is the only car that's driven by in the last 90 minutes or so, or they've just finished an excruciating legal ordeal wherein which they are going to be deported if they don't get married within the next 7 days and they've already asked everyone they can possibly think of (including my grandfather)....very kind of you to say.....

Being a handsome devil myself, I just had to reply to the OP.

A – Because we are competitive.  Whether it is the dominant or submissive ones.  It is ingrained in our genetics since cavemen as hunters competing for survival.  It is that same ingrained male/female role traits that typically have men asking women where everything is (like their socks) because women have traditionally been the gatherers and they must remember where things are.
