has anyone else been getting more spam/junk mail lately. in 2 days ive got 2 mails from obvious spammers. one was a 'female sub' -in russia- of course. another was today, part of a 'couple' but posing as female. each wanted email to outside addresses, promising 'pics and even more', and both had very bad grammer/speech in the mail, hinting at a different spoken language. is this going on board wide or am i the lucky one

I get lots of messages from men all over the Middle East. I'm honestly not sure how to take that.

OP, it's not just you. We all get 'em. I'm concerned because nobody with half a brain would fall for any of them... but they DO claim victims. Once they learn how to write decent English and make the profiles more realistic, they'll get lots of victims.

It is a part of having a profile here. The good attributes regarding this is the delete and block buttons. Oh they have become my favorite toys:)

I always get the anorexic men (from reading their weight on their profile) with the grainy photo stolen from some profile who say they were born here but can barely type English and can't get their tenses right....They talk about their Engineering job in some foreign country and how much they want to be in love and be loved. They always seem to mention their "mum" in their emails too....Also a girlfriend or child who died in a car accident or from a disease is mentioned 50% of the time.

I get them ad nauseum, long got fed up of reporting as spam, I just ignore them now. And as a catch all for them, I have details in my journal saying post an email addy up front and they will be treated as spam or words to that effect. The thing is, the spammers don't read profiles, so they dip out every time.

I have been getting them as well, and for some reason they all seem to be from some obscure small town in Ontario (or sometimes not so small). Even the ones that can spell, when they send you an email to hotmail/yahoo/gmail/etc. their email is sent from Poznan or Nigeria, or just about anywhere other than small town Ontario. I am getting very leeryof anybody on CM who claims to be from Ontario, which sucks because that's where I am from, and I really don't have the wherewithal to travel to somewhere else.
