A single mom is sometimes called a SILK... single income, lotta kids.
Note that understanding the acronym is half the battle. For example, HOH does mean Head of Household. So what's THAT mean?
It's as close to a 50's household as possible. Man works, ideally the woman does not. Woman keeps up house and has most of responsibility for kids if any. Man sets down rules and woman follows them. It's a variant of DD (Domestic Discipline) with housework thrown in.
It should be possible to flip gender roles and have a woman in charge, but I haven't seen the HOH term applied to that.
