Oh yes folks! Where America leads the UK follows!

Already referred by the police force concerned to the independent complaints commission. Is that something that happens in the US with these incidents? If not, maybe the US could follow us for a change?

Ellen, I watched it.  I don't know what happened prior to this.  I will say that this fellow should be thanking his lucky stars.  Honestly, they would have whipped his ass here...on camera.  There would have been no video, because they would have beat the hell out of the cameraman next.

thats the thing though isnt it? no context.

by the background, it looks like a standard example of our much vaunted "night time economy", where hordes of drunken youths rampage the streets going from bar to bar, fighting, cussing and puking.

I am a bad person perhaps, but if this guy was drunken, fighting, cussing and puking, I might well have tasered him too. In fact I'd take a cattle prod to the lot of 'em - well, I am past 40 now so I am permitted to be a grumpy old cow.

However, the law applies to the police as much as anyone else - and this looks like disproportionate force to me - but I cant help thinking our innocent victim might just have tried it on with the wrong cop on the wrong night and got what he deserved.

How many Bobbies does it take to cuff a man who's been tased? Ans- at least 6. LMAO Well, this kind of thing is going to be more and more common on TV, just as a reminder of the Iron Boot program. What its going to take, is for concerned citizens of the U.K. to identify the conspirators in this case, and hold them accountable on their own. As you follow the inquiries into this episode, you'll see that it'll get passed into an "investigation" then ruled legal under some judge's gavel. Until the judges as well as the Bobbies in the U.K. feel the repercussions from something like this, expect a lot more of the same.

Yes, of course. Because that always happens in every case, right. Hell, just coming home tonight I was stopped and beaten 16 times. I have 20 taser marks and they followed me home to be sure I didn't have an uplink to a satellite that could have recorded them all.

We have this television show over here called "Cops". A camera crew follows ordinary police officers during their daily work. Time after time you see people who are arrested, follow instructions and there is no "police brutality". It really is that simple but unfortunately some folks just don't get it.

Why do you call you policemen bobbies?

"Puts on horns and pitchfork"

The cops know that they are being taped, maybe that contributes?

there are a lot of good cops out there, one would hope the majority, but that does not lessen the impact that bad cops have, I think that is what this shows

"Bobbies" (Looked it up) is, it seems a nickname, as "Cops" are in the US
