Perhaps girl should have been more persistant?  She was afraid that would be an act of clingy-ness and needy-ness...

Oh gosh the horror!  Better to walk than to be thought clingy and needy?  Maybe you need to take a break from relationships for a while.

Well if it was me and a girl left because we hadn't had sex in 2 1/2 weeks,  then I would be glad I had only wasted 3 months on her. Sex is great, but it isn't the most important thing in the world. What is this girl going to do if she gets married and something happens to her husband and he can't get it up? Is she going to dump him at that point? What happens when they get older? Personally I think you dodged a bullet. Good luck on your search.

Agreeing with Boi here .... the best basis for making or breaking a LTR is not " when did i get laid last " but " can i see myself sitting in a rocking chair beside this person at aged 93 shaking my walking stick at the nurses "  compatibility with someone isn't about the sex its about how you spend the before and after time .

before you rush back or worse rush into the next relationship maybe you should consider questioning what other than sex you and this person had in common . if its a short list then you will know better for next time

jen - you never did answer my points:

Maybe he did not wish to catch your cold or did not find cold symptoms to be particularly sexy.

Did you want to have sex during your period and did he enjoy that?

Looking back on it how do you think the 2 of you did with communication?
What do you think you could improve and aside from his giving in what would you have liked to have happened?
What would have made you feel better?

Sometimes guys resent the notion that they have to always perform.
Sometimes things do get in the way of desire.

In relationships we aren't always going to get our needs and wants met all of the time.
