Status: offline 		according to tmz.com, chastity is now being called "chaz".  neat nod to his original name, if you ask me.

good on him if he was unhappy being female.  the process should be satisfying to his soul.  according to what i read at tmz, sonny's widow is being supportive all the way, but cher hasnt put her two cents worth in.

i wish chaz the best in the endeavor.

so- she becomes a man and then dates a woman- or a man - or more to the point- she then dates a man that becomes a woman??  I am confused.

Anyhow- She is free to choose.

Status: offline 		this obviously has been an issue his entire life, so it's not all that surprizing that at the age of 40 he's finally taking the plunge.  it's a tough age for anyone at home in their own body, must have been doubly so for chaz all these years.  it's time to be himself.

I didn't mind when Pat Califia decided to transition, and Patrick's work has made him a far, far more immediate influence to me than Chaz ever has... Same with Wendy Carlos, the musician. So I don't see why this is anything I, or anyone else on this forum should have an opinion on, or care about.  Is it because this is a kid who was in our homes via TV? Big deal!
 If he wants to make his outside match the inside, good for him! At least he seems to have people around him to support him through the difficult times ahead.

In the Real Frank Zappa Book, Zappa says that when Chastity Bono complained to her dad Sonny about her name, he reminded her: “Be thankful that we didn’t name you Dweezil!”.

I wish him well and hope this makes him very happy but I can't help but think that there's a Chris Farley joke buried in here somewhere.
