Airlines weren't trying to be the fuckin' "Greyhound of the Skies", increase fares, and provide decent service.

Either that or re-regulate the sods.  Yes, more can travel by air nowadays, but everything else has gone straight to hell.

Which I'd be perfectly happy with, either way. If I've got to pay another hundred bucks per flight, or whatever, to make the flight tolerable, I have no problem with that.

It would be more expensive, and take more time, but if you factor in the money I'd be saving on a car rental, it really starts to look like a much more attractive option that flying in a sardine can full of rude, noisy people. The only problem is, I just don't think I'd enjoy driving a standard transmission up and down the cliffsides in San Francisco.
I have to learn how to drive stick shift one of these days, because I occasionally travel to countries that almost exclusively import/rent only stick shifts, and I don't like to be without a car...
Even my friends have cars they will let me drive around for free, but stick shift.    I find myself having difficulty trusting myself to use the left foot at appropriate times, and be half the driver I am on automatic cars.     M

I'm 5'4", abut 130 lbs.   The last several flights I've taken have had me cramped and uncomfy.  Where I USED To prefer window seats (I still WOULD prefer them) I've taken to booking aisle seats so I can stretch my legs.

Had to do the same, when I and the little one flew to and from Portugal last summer...
I need a vacation again.  [:D]   M

While flying to Arizona, I flew business, on the way back... owch coach and my legs cramped up too many times plus I felt I was kissing the seat in front of me.

Well I have short legs.
But my main problem is they are to short to to hit the floor. So unless I can put a carry on bag like a backpack to prop them on, by the time I get where Im going my legs are numb.

Me if I can I prefer a train since Im rarely in a hurry to get anywhere.

Yup, that's one industry that our govt never should have de-regulated.
They really do need to be r-regulated! How long does it take for "govt" to realise that they made a mistake and correct it? Like this and "NAFTA."
