Ok- for 5 weeks my body is like- I stuck my finger into an electrical socket.  There is a negative pulsation all thru-out my body.

We had alot of rain in PA.

My legs and feet are bothered.  Moving is an effort. My appetite is bizarre,  my waste is also kid of odd.

At times ibuprofen can help.  What can I do to fix this?

Do you have a lot of metals in you? ((plates and screws keeping shit together?))
or is it closer to an arthritic thing?

Just mesh  from a hernia repair.  I dont know if it is metal.   The sensation is closer to arthritis then to pain.

have you talked to your doctor about prescribing something like Lortab or Percocet to deal with it?

My knees have a bit of metal in them still, when they get real bad I drink some rum and take a hot bath, that may help a bit for now, just be careful mixing any pain meds with alchohol

You are still a bit hot (Not THAT hot) and your ions are messed up. Tell the doc that you did try to light yourself up and see what he recommends. Best thing to do...MRI.

For some reason PA is still highly charged up but not to the point of static. IT has happened to me several years ago and recently (2003) was DXed with fibromyalgia. PA will need a referal to a rheumy (Arthritis doc) from his regular doc. Blood tests will be ran and some rheumys will also run MRIs to secure a diagnosis. There are some of us here suffering from fibromyalgia and one sign is arthritis pain with short-circuited sertonin levels. I sued to be wheel bounded but I fiought the demon and make sure I walk about every day, no matter how much pain I am in.

Sounds neuropathic in nature and is likely going to be a real pain in the ass (sometimes literally) to pin down a diagnosis and find treatment that actually works.  Be prepared for dr shopping, fighting to be taken seriously, being accused of being an addict, and more.  I would also look into autoimmune disorders as a potential issue.  I would wait and see if things resolve on their own.  Five weeks isn't that long. Yes, I know, easy for me to say.  It is just that I know what the path looks like to trying to get things like this properly cared for and you are going to have to weigh out the very real difficulties with the (potential) benefits.  It may be you decide you can live with it rather than hack through a system that tends to be unsympathetic and even cruel to chronic pain patients.  All my best!

Go see an MD and don't listen to woo about static charge etc. Chronic pain can be a symptom of something very serious so get it checked out.

I have been having problems with my neck and shoulder because of muscle  damage from an long ago accident.  Generally I can handle it and have always avoided narcotic type medication although I do take a muscle relaxer.

I saw my nyc dr the day before I left that toxic city for good and he prescribed neurotin, developed for seizures but has been found to work with pain also.
I saw my mental health dr today and brought my bag-o-drugs and she told me that not only does it help take pain away but helps with anxiety.

I know there are certain side effects but so far the day I started taking it I have felt a huge difference.  The day after my first dose, when I woke up I was totally pain free.  It has also helped allow my muscles to relax because of the pain vs muscle fight.

My sister has advanced RA and her Dr has put her on it and she has noticed a decent difference.

Might be worth asking the dr about.  For myself I was trying to get away from eating tylenol like candy.

I just came from the store. It was heavenly.   They had the AC on.  I see it is 85% humid in the house.  I own an AC_ but it is in the cellar and not put in yet.

I had blood work last month and everything is normal.

Opiates?  HA!    Not do-able here.   They send you to a pain clinic.  Where THEY tell you you need anything BUT opiates. I do have some pain pills...  which I get thru santa clauss.   I ration them tho.

I can see I had better put that AC in/.

The electric shock-y buzzy feeling might be from your tapering off of your effexor or tapering/stopping other meds.
Seriously.

Seeing a doctor might be a great idea!

When I go through restless leg or those bug bite feelings I often get because of neuro stuff...  I can vibrate basically or the pain gets so bad I seem to pulsate.  I try to over ride what is happening with something else.  I don't know how to explain it without breaking tos...  Kind of like hitting your thumb so you don't feel the pain somewhere else, those wonderful people used to say when you were hurt.  What I am trying to say is like resetting your brain which sounds crazy.  Hot, hot or really cold water helps sometimes... other times I will use a huge massage machine.

When it first started I would have one and a half white russians... that helped to calm it all and was fun... of course I wanted more and the party was on... so I find other ways now!  Fifty one year olds, doing the sexy dance can frighten the youngsters!

I hope you feel better fast!  I know a similar feeling and it will drive you nuts!

neurotin is not a opiate, which is why I mentioned it.

neurontin made my nerve endings feel like they were on fire and like hot electric, jumping around under my skin.  It was hell.  I tried it twice.. never again.  But some have said they like it and it helps.

Asher.....Bite me LOL

HAH come make me bleed. :P  Besides you have pics that prove I can take pain.

I would be more than pleased if someone could beat the brick I call a neck into submission, instead of having to take  anything to take care of it.

So when are you moving to FL again?
