Ive found that from any site Ive ever been on, that the people on Collarme--have been the most respectful and kind--Ive ever had the chance to meet---Very good job to everyone!!!!

I only really have experience with b.com and alt.com...but I definitely agree with you. I think you take the good with the bad, but CM has a lot of good to offer. :)

Alt is ok. Collarme is ok too. Better'n alt. Similar to fetlife.com or bondage.com .... But I must say, I've met way more local kinksters, in person, from Craigslist than from Alt or CM ... YMMV but Craigslist rocks!

Being some years here, collarme was my spiritual home and base in the terrible year 2005 were M. fighted against cancer and i logged on every evening coming from the hospital. I had no strength left to write anything and i did not want to talk to our friends and family more than i had to, but reading the post of some members like LuckyAlbatross, Mercnbeth, The Mists, IrishMist, darkintheshadows, IronBear, mnottertail, Focus and a lot of others and seeing them living, fighting, loving helped me immense through that time.

Fair question. And apropro to this thread, which is about Collarme Love. Assuming all on Collarme are "kinksters", the confusing word must be 'local' ...

For many on Collarme, "local" isn't an issue. Many 'preverts are on Collarme for the comraderie, for the ideas that are generated, for the mutual support of their kink, and for the answers to their burning lusciously perverted questions. For that, local isn't necessary.

Others joined for reasons altogether different, one of which might be to meet like-minded kinksters for mutual fun and pleasure. To physically enjoy one another's company, they need to be local.

That isn't to say that Craiglists === Collarme. On the contrary, Collarme serves the first purpose quite nicely, while Craigslist excels over the latter.

To understand why is more complex than I know ... other than from experience over the past two or three years on Collarme ... however it may be due to the simple fact that Craigslist has "localized" pages, while Collarme is open to the world in a single venue. Perhaps if there were a sfbay section of Collarme, that Collarme would then be useful for actual meetings of real people in addition to the wondrously interesting conversations with kinksters around the globe.
