So sad. Such an amazing author.

Oh no! :(
I've only ever read two fantasy series in my life. By David Eddings and Robert Jordan. Now they're both gone.
RIP :(

I am so saddened by this, one of my favorite authors.

For anyone who hasn't read The Elenium and The Tamuli series (6 books in all), they are well worth a read.
Farewell, David. Your books have entertained millions, a job well done.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Eddings.

Well, summabitch and every other bad word I can think of..... He was one of my all-time favourite authors and I always, ALWAYS checked any book store I was in for anything they  may have that I didn't have already or hadn't read.

The literary world is a lot darker now, I think I'll raise one to the master wordsmith and then go have a good cry.

Farewell, BelGarath, Polgara and Belgarion....... (and all his other great series, both the Elenium and The Tamuli are excellent as well. Sparhawk will never be the same.)

(Yes, I know the characters as real people - I've read, re-read and then re-read them all again.)  [:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(][:(]

Belgarath and Polgara will, however, continue on.

Very sad. Eddings has always been one of my favorites. I have read and re-read all of the books I have ever found by him.

Rule -> RE: David Eddings. (6/7/2009 6:59:01 PM)

I never read Eddings. I bought one of his first books - had the word 'red' in the title, if I recall correctly. I read the first three or so pages, concluded that I had read similar stuff a thousand times before, closed the book and gave it away. I never bought a book by Eddings again.
