I have thought a lot about this very subject. As a professional photographer and someone into the lifestyle I am very glad someone brought this topic up and started this thread.

I have not actually taken a lot of fetish photography but I did find that models that I have photographed, both back in school and for work who were into BDSM, a fact that I learned later, tended to be much more sensuous models. They also happen to be much more disciplined and professional. This last point is important to note in that there are models in the industry and people who want to be models.

I happened to study photography in California where I needed to book two to three models to assure that one would actually show up, let alone show up on time. That was until I started booking models who also happened to be into the lifestyle.

Of course, I am making blatant generalizations based on anecdotal evidence. I also found that not only did submissives/slaves make deliciously sensuous models but I find they also make deliciously sensuous lovers.

I did start a personal portfolio of more intimate images with a few very special fetish models.

I am not sure CD, that you react only to the control aspect. I would rather think along the lines, that as long as you are not leaving the flow of the situation you are relaxed. The moment you get directions, you realize the photographic situation//the mirror, as a non professional you leave the comfort zone and you are not accustomed to acting or posing i assume.

Not sure, that i could explain what i meant, hopefully NZ, darcy or somebody else can explain it better.

ME,

i have at the same time to say Yes and No to your post, because

in my experience the domiant whatever only rules the situation if the photographer is young, submissive or heavily paid to submit.

All professional directors or photographers i ever met, ruled their models, if not in their early career stages than later on. It is like in music, you can produce a prof. recordings, when you let the amatuer rule the situation.

Hello Kia. Good to see you.

Photography and D/s? I admit to not being much of a shutter bug. I'm more often the subject than the photographer.

This past Friday, I did a demo in Atlanta. Just a small gig at Studio Eris. One of the owners of the establishment is a professional photographer, so of course, we had to stage some shots after the presentation. I have to admit, when he emailed them to Me, I was ever so thrilled with the way the whole thing was captured on camera. The best of which wasn't even a flogging shot. It was My demo doll kneeling and looking up at Me. It's not the greatest picture of Me by a long shot, but it is a wonderful picture of her. He found her inner beauty and froze it in a moment of tine for all to see.
