Six things science has revealed about the female orgasm

According to researcher Elisabeth Lloyd, that implies that female orgasms are an evolutionary accident. Like male nipples, they persist simply because there is no good reason to get rid of them.

Good grief; should I have not been rewarded in some manner, for putting up with 5 min of "fun", then "You can finish that up yourself, right? Star trek is on." [8|]

Of course that wasn't nearly as bad as my thoughts durring and after with my first long term bf; "Can we just skip the foreplay? I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to hurt like that." [&:]

A brain scanning study showed that many areas of women's brains were deactivated during orgasm, including those involved in emotion. The effect was less striking in men, but that may be because male orgasms are so short they are hard to detect in a brain scan. [sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif][sm=biggrin.gif]

That might explain some of it, but they may just be scanning the wrong head.

[>:]  Dear Lord above, considering my mother's reactions in just mentioning menstruation or menopause, I can't even think about approaching her on this part:

Genes affect orgasm frequency According to the first genetic study of the female orgasm, up to 45 per cent of the variation in women's ability to have them could be down to genes.

"So, mom, how are your orgasms? Or did you ever have any?"  (If I wasn't 2500 miles away from her, I'd probably still get the shit beat out of me for asking something like that...)

Lmao

I would start with something like... "Soooo... I read this interesting study today..."

Just some random thoughts:

quote:

It's folk wisdom that people can't think straight when they have sex on their minds, but when women have an orgasm most of their brains switch off.

I think that's true for both sexes.  I mean, I'm certainly not planning my next day's itinerary during one.

quote:

but that may be because male orgasms are so short they are hard to detect in a brain scan.

And again the myth thast men can't have multiple orgasms is perpetuated.

quote:

Many women can't have orgasms.

Send them over to my place. [:)]

quote:

is unclear why women should have orgasms at all

Because if they didn't they women wouldn't have any reason to associate with men.  [:)]

Ecstasy over G-spot Therapy

The burning question is whether women with a small G spot can "grow" it with practice. Jannini is optimistic. "I fully agree that the use makes the organ. I do expect an increase with frequent use." So perhaps the only way to make the most of your G spot, if you have one, is to get practising.

It took me a long time to find that g spot but I assure you, I won't forget where it is!  I find the study slanted or off... just maybe how it was reported, I don't know.  But... who friggin cares if the brain shuts off a little... I mean... when I go for the big O's I am not needing to think of anything else except how good it is and my brain is on enough to know that! lol

As for how many women don't have the big O moments... that could be a whole lot of things including a partner who doesn't have a clue... I do wonder if they factored that in.  All we need is more men walking around saying she can't get off because of her damn mother... I knew there was something wrong with that wench!  When he really needs to say... gee baby, how about some playing doctor here... let's discover how to make my baby cum!

My mother didn't have a big O until I was an adult and far into my own discoveries.  She had a hooded clit and the right man... put that right!

I will admit... I didn't have a clue about masturbation and saw no purpose in it... then I met the man who was to be my husband and he gave me assignments I found really stupid!  Like how the hell am I to turn myself on?  I was very young.  He just said... do it for me.  Okay... then one day I understood very well what he meant, why he told me to do it and asked for reports daily.

Maybe some better sex education without slanted data and more hands on play would be a good thing and less research that points at frigid women being so for genetic reasons.  I think someone in that research is related to the missing link.

I think that makes you "unsuitable" for their "research"[:D]

Could be ... (poor communication can work both ways though) ... shame they didn't do a practical course in school ... might have reduced the truancy rate [sm=evil.gif]

I do wonder if they factored that.

Nah! ... serious risk of blokes sulking to death.[:D]
On the East coast of the Altlantic we say "you're not big and you're not clever" and it would have the same implications ... but factoring THAT in would be something that might get men talking  in the toilets ... and I'm sure you'll agree, thats not really sensible.

I wonder if the research looked at nymphomania too in as much depth ? ... and if so, I'd prefer to read those pictures first.[sm=evil.gif]

here's the really weird part, men can lactate........
so why do the attribute it to an evolutionary accident... sounds kind of like lazy research if you ask me

LookieNoNookie -> RE: Female Orgasm Update (5/29/2009 5:50:54 PM)

Fascinating stuff.....

"This week we report on the continuing debate about female ejaculation: is it real, and if so why does it happen?"

I have a question:

How come after 47 years, after the 50's reports on this....then the 60's....Playboy running every conceivable study on the subject....for 30 years....the internet making things (rather) abundantly clear......

We know men "cum" (I fucking hate that vernacular)....we know women come....

How the fuck come we don't (still) fucking know if women come yet?

ShaharThorne -> RE: Female Orgasm Update (5/29/2009 6:01:47 PM)

Oh believe me...the guy knows when I come. Its the short time Johnnies I can't stand.

CatdeMedici -> RE: Female Orgasm Update (5/29/2009 6:53:27 PM)

I note they failed to mention the infamous number 7--the studies were done by men.

The defense rests.[8|]
