Wasn't sure exactly where to put this, but I suppose it is an off topic question:

Is there any way of editing your posts on this board after they have already been submitted?

>OK scratch that.

There's now an edit button for this post. But one of my other posts that I want to edit hasn't got one.

???

You only have an hour to edit. After that, you're out of luck.

Heh...edited to add....to edit you look at your post and find the little edit button at the top between the little quote and Fwd button. Click on it and your post will open up in a box. Edit. Hit OK. Voila.

You can edit them for a limited time after initially submitting them. Just click the Edit button in the cluster of buttons at the upper right corner.

That means the editing period has closed, and you're stuck with what you wrote.

Murphy's Law of the edit button is that it will disappear five seconds before you realize you need it.

Why edit ?

You wrote it, so you obviously thought it a worthy response, leave it, have the courage of your convictions and make apologies later after others have seen your faux pas.

And before anyone says I edit, I do, but only for glaringly bad spelling mistakes, punctuation and typos and that is usually within the first five minutes of posting.

I edit because often I will think of something brilliant to add after the post is done, not to delete or change what's already been said.

Edited to add - I have nothing brilliant to add to this one. :)

I do that too :)

Also sometimes you get all passionate and write something then when you read it back you can see the millions of ways that it can be misconstrued then you know that the rest of the thread will ignore your brilliant point and instead rip the thing apart.
