I wonder if their feet are going to be shackled to the pedals.... A pair of fixie pedals with toe clips could easily be modified.

There is no mention in the article about RFID monitoring either, far too many ways for this situation to become a disaster.

I laughed when it said they ride from one town that houses a prison to another. Guess the guards need replacements like its a relay. Or maybe they replace prisoners with prisoners as well. Creative idea that's for sure.

I see 190 prisoners doing a quick left and scatter five minutes into the race... the remaining 6 will be good, till they realize the guards are too occupied with the 190 other prisoners to give two shits about them
