I'v called my Lady my "keeper" a few times, and she says she enjoys it. Other than that I just use her name. Her personality and position gives it meaning enough.

Here's my thought... this sounds like a "cart before the horse" problem. What matters here is honest, forthright, and sincere expressions of respect and whatever other emotions you carry for him. Word choice is just that. Let's remember that in the end, a word is simply a sound designated to carry some meaning. It is the meaning that matters, not the word. Perhaps if you're not so focused on words, then it'll be easier to find "what comes naturally". I have to admit, I'm kind of surprised that "sir" doesn't work. I mean that's fairly culturally generic. And to those who feel that the Dom ought to/should pick the naming conventions. I have an alternate viewpoint. To me, mandating signs of respect is a losing battle. I'd rather allow Carol to express herself as she sees fit and thereby know that the expressions are heartfelt. Otherwise, the word "master" becomes just another sound... one that I've inserted into her lips via a command. It means nothing.
