I have posted a bit of this before. I warn you its sappy, but its about love, so...

Love comes from God, it pours over the world like sunshine, in never ending supply, so that you can give all your love to someone, and still have an endless supply to give to others. Most people don't really understand what love is, and they confuse it with other emotions. If it was easily defined, if we had another word for it, we wouldn't need the the word love. If someone tells you, "I love you, but not in that way," they really don't understand love. All love is the same, the love you feel for your mother or brother is the same love you feel for your wife/husband/master/slave/lover/significant other. The difference is the other emotions, Passion, empathy, sympathy, lust... they all play a role, and each is often mistaken for love. What then is love? Well, I suppose its easier to tell you what it is not.

Love is:

caring
being kind to people that piss you totally off
willing to say "I'm sorry", even if it's not your fault something went wrong
knowing there is somebody at home wondering how you are, and if you will be late getting home

Love is accepting the bad as well as the good, wanting his happiness but also telling him what he doesn’t want to hear, and a willingness to listen when he does the same to you.

Well duh.[8|]  It's the first line - if you bothered listening to the link provided.
Urgh, and I loathe the statement, 'just saying' - it's so crass.  If you are going to be a pedant, at least be an honest one.
