Hello everyone, This question is to people in my area, or who have lived here in the past. I am pretty sure that I am going to do it. I’m getting ready to step from reading the forums and such....into real time. Yikes! I am thinking about joining a private club in the Tampa area. I live in Sarasota, and Tampa is roughly an hour away. I’m looking to meet people in a safe environment. While I know that anywhere can get sketchy fast, I think somewhere that has rules and members and such sounds like a better deal than meeting for a party at someone’s home. (At least at first?) I’ve been looking at two clubs. Master’s Quest and The Phoenix. I have heard good and bad things about MQ. I have heard nothing about TP. So… if you’re in the area (or have been in the past) and have been to these clubs… can you tell me what you think of them? Thanks for your input! ~anne P.S. If there are any other clubs in the area, could you clue me in? These are the two that I have found with an online search. P.P.S. Has anyone met (or IS anyone) a member of the Sarasota Society? What are they like? smiles

Master's Quest is actually in Largo, near St. Petersburg. I've never been there, but I did live about a block away for around a year.

It does seem kinda pricey, and I want to make sure I am getting a good deal for a years membership. For me, it would be about $40 (I think) for a membership and no door fee. I will cmail you now! $40 for a year is pricey? Now I don't do "public" anything at this time in my life, and I never went there, but that doesn't seem like all that much. Since there it includes no door free, I assume it is also unlimited access. Shoot, you go to the movies less than 4 times and pay that much. Sounds like a bargain. GT, I keep forgetting you are down in my old neck in the woods. Shame we didn't find out until now. Hop, skip and a jump over the Howard Franklin.

LafayetteLady, If it's a good place, I agree that it's a bargain. If it isn't somewhere I want to be, then not so much. Thus the question of how people like it...smiles At the risk of sounding cheap, I don't want to pay a membership for a place I don't want to go, or don't feel comfortable. Or...somewhere that's clique-ish and unwelcoming. (As one person that I talked to put it.) I was hoping for someone to post and say they love it, but no one has....so that makes me wonder..... However, on the website it was quite adamant about privacy, and that I really like. That's a huge plus. Thanks for your input! ~anne

I'll have to cmail you soon GreedyTop about Tampa and the surrounding area, since I am only across the bay from you. It would be nice to have local opinions and such. I really enjoy comments, be it good or bad, from people who have been somewhere. I already know about places in Orlando... but that's a 90+ mile drive for me to make on a semi-regular basis. I wouldn't mind it so much, but the expenses will eventually add up. The drive won't be a problem though, since I got KneelforAnne volunteering to be my co-pilot on the ride. [:)] Largo is like 10 miles down the road from me, so cost for entry may balance out, considering I can drive that easily and no cost for hotel, and low cost for gas. But I too value comments from people who've been, and there's already so many great comments about Woodshed.

Mdr and I have tentatively decided to make one another actually get out from behind our computers and --gasp-- experience this stuff first hand. I’m going to go if he goes, and he’ll go if I do. Since we’re both chcken *****, we’ll see how this works out. It isn’t THAT much for me to go, $40 a year isn’t a terrible price to pay for unlimited entertainment, as Lafayette Lady pointed out. However, for mdr it would be $60 for the membership and then an additional $30 at the door each time. That is considerably more than I would be paying. The Phoenix, in Tampa is in roughly the same area--about an hour away from me, and for each of us it would be a $30 membership and $20 at the door. I’m wondering if it is worth it, or if we should just suck it up and drive to Orlando. The only major issue I have with that is anyone we meet there (Orlando) would probably be from that area…not ours. So… if anyone has gone to Master’s Quest or The Phoenix, please share your honest opinion. If you’d rather contact via c-mail, please feel free. Thanks!

I could have swore when I lived down there that you didn't need a membership to attend all the time, because I remember how single women always got in for free. I went to the site, and it's definately the same place, so I guess it changed. As for being clique-ish, you only heard that from one person. I wouldn't take that too seriously. Some people automatically feel uncomfortable when they are the only one who doesn't know a lot of people. I think you too meeting and trying it together is a great idea. This way you will know at least one other person, so you know you will have someone to talk to. I will tell you though that unless you are familiar with the area, you are likely to drive right by. I had driven by 100 times and never even noticed it. Honestly, that area has more adult stores than any place I've ever seen in my life, and MQ is in a little strip mall and very inconspicuous. Go, make the best of it and have a blast. Going together you are guaranteed to make at least one new friend with each other.

I thought you WERE out in the real world, babe? Anyway, a friend of mine was very impressed with MQ, and thought the setup and people were cool, friendly, all that. As a person who has run a private club, and helped run another, the run rates can be high for lots of reasons. Look at what you are getting, and figure how often you will be attending. Distance makes a big difference, too, even for those of you who are young and energetic, and DON'T have to drive home in the snow half the year!

There is also Fetish2Fetish in St Pete. Their GM is an awesome girl. I might be a bit biased on that one because she is my girl friend..hehe.. Your other option is to hit the Tampa Munch on the 2nd Saturday of the month and then head over to the Fetish Circuit. Both are run by some incredible people. Phoenix Club, while I personally havent been, I do know, is also run by some fantastic people. If you do happen to venture over to Orlando, we have from the Tampa area all the time, as well as the rest of the state.
