As I've always understood it this lifestyle, especially poly households are all about honesty. People siding with him can do all the mental and linguistic gymnastics they like but he should have been more open. After isn't kink about being open. In my experience the kinkiest are just the most honest and open people...

No, it's not required for him to dump her, but he does need to be honest with her about his desires and about the two of you. It sounds like he's not going to do that, so the two of you need to dump him. He's clearly perfectly happy with the current situation. FreakyBiscuit, I don't think there is a direct correlation. I try to be very honest and up-front about who I am, what my needs/wants are, etc., but there are plenty of people here who are closeted deceitful jerks who have been lying to their wife for decades.
