No controversy, no statement being made. The attached video is just some good time lapse photography. Center of the Milky Way   just enjoy the show.

It would have been better if Nancy Pelosi wasn't lurking in the
corner distracting me whilst putting on another round of lipstick.

Damn lefties.

Those are fun to make...I'm heading to our family cemetery tomorrow night if weather holds to make one... I hope to align with the North Star on a gravestone cross.

GreedyTop -> RE: Galactic Center of the Milky Way (5/22/2009 8:09:11 AM)

beautiful... I wish I lived somewhere where I could see that.  Too damned much light pollution around here.

That was fabulous!

Thank you!

I've seen that with my own eyes, from a high altitude camping site near Leadville, Co. We kept thinking that it was light pollution, or a "false dawn" of some kind. When we finally realized what it was, we were absolutely thunderstruck! Tracing the western spiral arm back, toward the horizion, and realizeing the closer and closer to the horizion our view got, the longer the time span... until the core... which is almost 50,000 years away...

Great video... thanks for posting that!

(You do :) )

GreedyTop -> RE: Galactic Center of the Milky Way (5/22/2009 10:10:06 PM)

Lookie... I live in TAMPA... not as much light pollution as NYC or LA..but enough that it screws with stargazing..  *sigh*

popeye1250 -> RE: Galactic Center of the Milky Way (5/22/2009 10:35:35 PM)

I  live about 10 miles South of Myrtle Beach city limits so star gazing is pretty good here.
Also I'm six miles inland from the lights of the beach but, some of the beaches here are excellent for star gazing.

It's late and I can't sleep, I think I'll go into Youtube and type in, "women farting" and see what comes up.

Very nice! Thank you.

LadyTeazer -> RE: Galactic Center of the Milky Way (5/22/2009 11:25:03 PM)

Absolutely beautiful.  Thank you for posting it to share.

Near the end, that elongated cloud-looking object.... is that the "Dark Rift" (I think that is what it is called), that all of the planets are supposed to line up with on 12-21-2012?  Yanno, the day when the world is gonna end?  Yeah, right...

MarsBonfire -> RE: Galactic Center of the Milky Way (5/23/2009 5:50:34 AM)

Popeye,

So, did your Youtube search give you a hit to the unaired Mythbusters segment? The one where they strapped a microphone to Kari Byron's butt, along with an amp, to test the Myth "Theat pretty girls don't fart?" Hailarious!

Between that humilliation scene, and the chinese water torture bit... I'm beginning to wonder if Adam and Jamie aren't Tops in their spare time.
