amazing ANIMAL acceptance and help

It is amazing how animals can accept unconditionally and help one another, whereas some humans are too biased to do.  Bless Mama the cat and all our animal companions.

Our first cat was named Chaos, and the name suited her. She had a toy mouse that was HERS. She would get highly pissed off if anyone touched it. In fact, most times she hid it if she was not playing with it.

One morning i was getting ready for work and my hot curling iron somehow fell against my eye as i was using it, severely burning the cornea. The pain was indescribable and all i could do was scream. My husband ran out to get the car as close to the house as possible to get me to the ER. While he was gone all i could do was sit on the bed and whimper.

I felt Chaos put her little paws on my lap and i managed to open one eye in time to see her drop her beloved mouse onto my lap.

Such a sweet story.

But why, oh why, does the highlighted part not surprise me.

I hope all is healed now.

When my dog was poisoned by snail bait  Ilike to think he came into the house to find someone to help him . He wasn't allowed in the house, and someone didn't close the door all the way and one night here comes sparky peeking around the corner and I got up to scold him for coming in and run him back out an then Inoticed he didn't look to good.

Was wondering if others have had animals in their lives that did something unusual.

After hearing all these amazing stories, it should be no problem teaching the new kitty to cook.

I think you are thinking of James Herriot.  That was the pseudo name of James Wight, a veterinarian from the UK.  He wrote a series of books..All Creatures Great and Small, The Lord God Made Them All to name a couple.

Oops...I was called away and didn't notice that you'd been given an answer while I was away.

I have two cats that were ferel. The mama cat whom i've named sheba ended up having two kittens in a neighbor's garage. The neighbor didn't want them and the cats had no where to go. I spent all that winter out on the front porch with food for the cats, every night i got a bit closer and talked to the cats and took my time. I remember the first time the female kitten little bit climbed into my lap to play. They stuck around and over time started coming into the house, then little bit got hit by a car but the mother and the male kitten stayed. Sheba now sleeps in my room and has become queen of the house, she's no longer afraid and will jump into people's laps and demand to be petted. Her son Silly comes and goes as he pleases but knows the instant i come home to visit and he sleeps with me. they're very special cats to me, i worked hard to tame them and to get them to trust me.

Animals are and have been helpers to me throughout the majority of my life. So many stories and memories will always fill the pages of my life. From my ocelot, to my cats, to the neighbor's cats from his barn, to the birds that would greet me on my trips to Pa.,to my dogs that use to share their life with me, i have totally led a blessed life through animals.

I also know COCOA..an old alpaca girl...
who lived down the road from us...she has been assigned as goat herd keeper..

Now... alpacas will automatically take lead and GUARD their herd..
COCOA can be seen on any given day at a high vantage point..sitting like the lady she is..demure..long neck extended..pursed lips..surveying the scene and watching over about 100 goats...
.
At times baby goats(kids) run up onto her back and stand there playing and butting..still she watches..sits.... ever patient.
.
NOW the best part..lady COCOA'S...other side..doing what needs to be done..

A coyote slipped into the goat paddock one day..slinking up to baby kids playing..
and MS demure chased it unrelentingly and killed it with her sharp hooves then quietly returned to her post..
dusting off her hooves I am sure..
What a gal..!

Had a golden that was a softie. Afraid of thunderstorms. If she needed to go out and caught a whiff of bear, back in she'd run keeping her legs crossed till it was safe to go out. Until a bear tried to break in through the back door. The dog who had never barked started growling, all the hair on her body stood straight up, she ran against that door eye to eye with a 400 lb bear and drove him off.

My aunt is still with us today, thanks to her little lhasa named Frenchy.  She'd take Frenchy wherever she went with her visiting, Frenchy was her baby.

My aunt lived in an old trailer home that had been added to over the years.  Her furnace went out, and a company came out to replace it.  She turned it on later that night and went to bed.  Frenchy woke her up later just in time to grab a few photo albums and go out the bedroom window.....in the middle of winter.  When the people replaced the furnace, they hooked something up wrong and the place caught fire.....due to the type of home it was, it was pretty much just a hole in the ground when the FD got there.

That little ankle biter of a dog was given carte blanc where ever she went after that.  It wasn't that we didn't like Frenchy, but we're a family used to big dogs, as in Saint Bernards, so we tend to think of anything under 20 pounds is nothing more than a cat in dog's clothing.  We didn't take our dogs with us everytime we left the house, or paint their nails, or put ribbons in their hair.  But there was no more spoiled dog than Frenchy after that.
