LP, I fully agree. As someone who has managed and owned businesses, as someone that works teaching people, as someone with a pet, it's no different in any situation. "You did well" is a very powerful and empowering statement. It is truly the premise with which I "rule" (god I hate using that term, but for lack of a better one on no sleep...) my pet, all of them. I've found long ago that kindness and positive reinforcement go a lot farther than harsh words, cruelty and fear. At least, this is how it works in my own situation. My pet wants to please me not out of fear of reprisal if he should make a mistake, but out of the reason that he actually wants to see me pleased, and knows that I will tell him of my appreciation. Of course others may be in different situations, where that's not what their sub, or those around him/her desire, just my point of view from my own experiences. :)
