They don't have to be mutually exclusive, ya know? I always think that everytime there's a thread about birthdays, or Christmas, or Valentine's Day, etc. There's always a couple folks who proclaim they don't NEED gifts for a special day 'cuz EVERY day is special. Well duh. Of course it is. But why can't some days be even more super extra special and include thoughtful gifts exchanged? They can. Giving gifts doesn't mean there's only that wonderful feeling on one or two days per year. It doesn't have to be one or the other. (Not saying you said it did, it's just a pet peeve.)

EVERY day is like Christmas, New Years Eve, Valentine's Day and our birthdays and anniversary all rolled up into one. Woo Hoo! That doesn't mean we can't celebrate those too without feeling all the other days are less special
