dragonnite -> having a hard time.... (5/4/2009 10:48:52 AM)

I had my tubes tied 8 1/2 yrs ago, since then I've had a hard time being able to have an orgasim. Does anyone else that has had this done have the same problem?? If so, what suggestions do you have to help with this problem???

Have you talked this through with any health professional yet? That would be my starting point, and if you find it isn't inherently a physical problem i would take steps to fins a sympathetic, knowledgeable person to talk through emotional issues.

There are those, i have met them myself, whose issues since sterilisation are more emotional than physical, and there are people out there well aware of the damage that such issues can cause, physically even though emotionally folk feel positive enough.

Personally i would start with talking either to OB/GYN focused professionals, or at least your own doctor, and take things from there. You might even find that just making positive steps to sirt this out will work wonders.

Best of luck.

I had my tubes tied about 7 yrs ago and yup it takes a lot now for me to orgasm. I used to pretty easily but I don't know if it's because I'm just no longer a spring chicken or the tubal. I let my partners know that it takes a lot for me and that if I don't orgasm it's not always a big deal. I don't need to orgasm to feel pleasure. Other times it is frustrating.

I really can't give you any advice other than to talk to your dr or learn to realize there's more to your body than just orgasms.

i feel like i almost don't have the ability to orgasm vaginally. i had my tubes tied at age 22, so if thats the culprit it makes sense. i wish i had known...
From what i was told about the procedure i had...after i was out, a metal rod was inserted into my vagina and my uterus was tilted upwards and the surgeon went in thru my belly button to cut and burn my tubes shut. Perhaps there was some nerve damage when they tilted my uterus.

I count myself lucky then. I had mine done 24 years ago and it's not caused me to have a problem achieving orgasm.

Thanks to all of you for your replies. I don't feel so alone now. Will take all that was said underconsideration. Once again thank you.
