I updated my profile recently and have since received five messages this week. Of the five, I believe four to be form letters. This pisses me off. Royally. When I write to someone I take the time to read their profiles and send them a message reflecting what I like about them and what I would like to know. I find it so fraking insulting to receive these form letters. </rant>

I wish I did. I'll admit it- I'm one of those people who is easily annoyed and can't just let it go. Maybe someday I'll be good and easy-going.

I understand.. I have days like that when I am easily annoyed... sometimes, when I get those form letters and I'm in a MOOD... I respond in the most scathing, and sarcastic manner possible.. THEN I block them. :D

It's almost as if I deal with too much stupidity at work and the second I encounter it and CAN say something else... oh it can be bad. You should see me at the supermarket after a bad day at work...

snort you should hear me when I'm driving... there are a few people here that have had the dubious pleasure of being on the phone with me while I'm driving..... and my husband gets to hear about the stooopid emails I get ....LOL

A saying I like... Tag enough doe with "Hey, how ya doing?" and you're bound to get a little tail. One night stands are a numbers game. If I messaged 100,000 people here and offered them a thrilling night of sex, how many would say yes? 1? 10? 100? My bet is closer to 1 for every 250 locals are willing to attend a meeting where sexual tension is inevitable. That's 400 per 100,000. I always assume form letters are an attempt at the numbers game, regardless of if it's sex or money they're after.

Yes it's annoying as hell. However you're female and 24. I can't imagine that you wouldn't get a response even if all you sent out was "Hi". Guys don't get responses. If a guy sends out 20 letters a week and gets three responses over a year, he's doing well. So if it takes half an hour per perfect friendly, tailored to the person, letter then he's wasting 10 hours a week, 520 hours a year for three emails tops. And he probably won't be compatible with those three. Having these odds explain why a guy will just write a friendly email that talks about him, so he can only spend 10 minutes a week sending mail instead.
