That's why we got that swine flu thang. It's the gay weddings what have incensed the Lord.

Not sure why anyone would want to get married, but I support anyone's right to make that mistake at least once LOL

The Lord's just pissed because he has to live with satellite feeds at 256 up, 768 down.

So when's it our turn? (Those of us with multiple females) Am I to be denied my natural right to co-co-co-co-habituate? Or to claim tax deductions, assume medical liability or any other responsibility? Hell I don’t even want to get married, I just want to live as I would and what I am has no ill effect on others unless of course they feel they’re entitled to manage my affairs.

Seriously, I believe this has to be bigger than just two people’s right to legal union, calling it marriage or whatever. Relationships like mine aren't simply seen as taboo, they're not legally recognized at all and if you think the Religious Right don't like same sex couples, tell them their daughter is you and your wife's slave. A man should be allowed to live as he will; so long as he can muster the resources needed for such a venture.

I suspect anyone having more than one female (or a female with more than one man, better not piss off Lashra so early in the morning) is considered to be a polygamist cult. Maintaining a compound that is surround by razor wire, pointing guns at outsiders, molesting um's and whatever the fuck else they want to say to create fear, fiction and frivolity.

-end rant-

I can't wait to see the stories when they start getting a divorce.Don't wish for something to much. It just might come true. This will be added revenue for divorce lawyers in Iowa.

Give it time, Bull.  It'll get there.  Right now, unfortunately for myself as well, polygamy, in a large way is used as basically a form of organized crime, including insurance fraud, welfare fraud, etc.  I'm completely in favour of legalizing it, even taking my personal wishes out of the equation.  If they did, they'd be able to more closely regulate it and keep the (literally) tens of millions of dollars per year in fraud from happening as much.

Living in Utah definitely gives one some interesting views on polygamy, as well as some unique resources to actually research it.

After all, what is marriage, but a civil contract between people?  In essence, marriage, legally speaking, is little more than an incorporated business.  Well, more like an L.L.C., but whatever.

Quite frankly, when it comes down to it (and I know I'm going to catch a lot of flack for this), the church (whichever one, all of them) is little more than a shiny place to have the ceremony.  In reality any justice of the peace, ships captain, government licensed monkey can perform a wedding.

I'm all for saying "Same sex marriage is legal. (I damn well better be) But if an individual church or place of worship doesn't want to do the ceremony, they don't have to."  I think that's how it SHOULD be.  I don't want to trample on their rights to believe what they want to believe any more than I wan them to trample on my rights to be able to enjoy the same benefits they do, with the person (or people in some cases out there) that I've been with for 14 years now.  Not to mention, chances are, if they don't want to perform the ceremony I probably don't want it held there anyway. *shrug*

That's the most logical statement you've made today.

I try not to make making sense a habit. ;)

You know I am waiting for some people to start shouting this. I was just telling my sub "I bet some people will think this is God's judgment for allowing gays to get married." lol  Now the only country that probably will not see this flu is Iran because they don't have any gays there ya know....[sm=yeahright.gif]

Congrats to all those getting married it is about time~!! Now if they ever allow plural marriage, I can have my two husbands.

Hopefully plural marriages between consenting adults will become a legal option in the near future.   That will take quite a bit of political organizing to accomplish of course.

It ain't just LaShara that you'd have to worry about there, Bull.  (Sorry to pick on you, but you're a big guy.  You can take it.  LOL)

I'd actually love to see plural marriage happen.  I think a lot of us on this site would.

My best to you and yours.
