I'm trying to get some information on ownership marks (mainly tattoos) since me and my Master have talked about that topic a few times.
Using the search function I found quite a few threads about this, but not a lot of examples. It'd be great if some of you could maybe post a picture or describe the mark - if you have one ^^

No Pics-- advice--Just be sure that whatever you get, you can live with if there is a break up--there is nothing worse than having Daddy's girl tatooed on one's proverbial ass and Daddy and girl are no longer an item.

I love temporary marks of ownership along the lines of lovebites in very personal places.

It is very personal and s/he can re-apply as desired in what ever location they wish.

Generally speaking Tattoos, brandings or intentional body marking carry some form of personal meaning. Be it a symbol, an animal, a cartoon character, a name, an expression, a flower or whatever.

I'm working on one for my wife. It'll be a lower back tattoo with the word Obedience and the obligatory flow-ey line art. It's slow going, I'm not all that familiar with doing line art so it's two steps forward, one back. In addition, before I put a tattoo on her lower back, I really want to tone up her ass and stomach a bit more. We're not in any rush and the long lead time gives me plenty of time to decide if I really want to permanently mark her.

i  have a tattoo i designed  (Master is not "artsy") it is 2 hearts with an eternity symbol coming from the middle of them and where the eternity symbol meets in the middle there is a padlock...it comes out as 2 hearts locked toghter for eternity W/we both love it.

i do tattooing for a living. i would suggest an image and not names or words. pick something that has meaning to both of you and also has meaning to your relationship as well as your position within that relationship.

then you need to find a qualified artist. look around, check the artists portfolio. find someone you fell comfortable with and make sure the place is clean.


where i live it is total caveat emptor. there is not state or local regulation at all. there are some scary tattoo shops in my area, and even worse basement and trailer park scratchers.

Mine is very simple.. it's a chain around my right ankle with the two ends held together with the first letter of his first name in script.

yeah if you have your doms or dommes name there and you break up or something the next one is not really going to be comfortable being reminded of the last dom

A small rose-like flower is a common slave symbol in the Gor books...

If you google for "slave register" there's a nice site which generates not only a unique number, but barcode for each user...

The "Deviant Art" website has a huge amount of tattoo flash designs, a number of which may call out to Y/you...

I'd say anything your Sir picks out, or designs would be a strong symbol of His ownership, once it's on you.

I have 'property of M' with a love heart tatooed on my bikini line. I've had it about two years now and it means jack shit. I very naively got it done for someone i was seeing, yanno when ya think things are gonna last forever and the next week they are over lol.
 
I love the idea of being branded for a Sir but i would be very loathe to do it now. I plan several more tats but all for me, not an ownership mark. I'm just not that convinced anymore that anything lasts forever or long enough to have body art done for.

Rather than an 'ownership' mark, why not think of it as a personal stamp? That is to say, it's a visual representation of the effect that your partner has had on your life. Something like that can be very meaningful, even after a breakup.

I'd second going for an image over any words... something that symbolizes hir, the *good* impact that ze had on your life, so far... what you *love* about hir (feel free to substitute any other word for love if you need to :P)

i don't have a pic of it yet. but i designed an ownership tattoo for Master to put on me. He's approved of it and there's no hurry to put it on.
it's kind of detailed but there's a kef where the ends form hearts and there's a small butterfly landing on the lower end. encircling the kef is a rope shaped in an O, and the rope is covered in a vine of forgetmenots. behind the whole thing is an orchid. The kef is a stylized letter k, it stands for kajira but also kurii. it also stands for my nickname on here kuriouswitch but also kuri which is what my friends call me. the O stands for his nickname on here, OminousOne and it also stands for October, which is when he collared me online (going to have to add something that means May for my formal collaring) forgetmenots are my favorite flower and i like how they look against the rope which stands for his ownership of me but also both of our love for bondage. the butterfly he likes and the orchid is his favorite flower.

Master's also talked about branding me in several years with overlapping O's to stand for his name.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I agree with those saying it should probably be a picture and not a name, not only because of the break-up possibility, but also because I'd prefer to be able to take a shower at my parents' house when I visit them without being afraid someone sees my new tattoo if/ when I get it.

And thank you, Fitznicely, I know deviantart and have an account there, but somehow I didn't think of looking there ;)

My exhusband and I got Master & Slave in Chinese script. My own (slave) isn't so unbearable as I know it is truly a mark of my submission. However his now is a bit silly, as he is living with his Mistress, and is completely sub now. LMAO

I've considered branding, but I've yet to find good information on how to do it safely. Any advice?

since you are young DO NOT get a rose bud on your breast..

A rose bud on your breast now..... will be long stem rose by my age....[:D]
