Im traveling through Europe from London to Copenhagen and am hopelessly inept regarding train scheduling, railpasses, etc. It's a pleasure trip so I'm still in the research stage, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on what to look at and where to begin my itinerary. I was planning to get a rail pass but the train schedules are fairly confusing right now. Any advice would be appreciated.

Took the train from London to Edinbrough, out to Glasgow and Gourk and back, loved loved loved that trip----you might hook up with someone from here who live there and can help you decipher the schedules and help you with an itinerary--we have some AWESOME Brits on here that I know would help.

I'd start by looking at taking the Eurostar from London to Brussels - it's one stop, goes under the Channel, pretty exciting, very very fast, super comfy. Brussels-Copenhagen has got to be a breeze as well. Rail travel across Europe is the best way to explore and it's really easy to plan a trip. The fares vary in price according to your age and time of travel - there are interrail cards that used to be available to the under 26s that lessen the cost of the trip considerably.

Good luck with the travel schedules, even some Brits have problems with them, well, not so much the times of travel, but the vast array of different pricing and whether the journey is straight through, or one has to change trains a million times before you get there.

Yes, that's exactly my problem!! :(( We're not going straight through and I don't want to spend 13 hours on a train and... :( Sigh. So confused.

It's pretty easy to look up or work out, but then we use trains quite a bit.  We cannot help once out of UK, but this is pretty much the best and easiest resource.  Are you are planning to leave via St Pancras?  Or no idea at all?

I thought it was pretty easy traveling by train over there...

That Fasching and the New Year's Trains were a blast.
If it's a pleasure trip, travel during the day to see stuff, what's the hurry, see a little, have some fun, eat, drink and do mary. [sm=buddies.gif]
