entrust2u -> Location? (4/22/2009 4:32:49 AM)

I have to assume many of those who list themselves on collarme aren't serious, just wanting to see how much mail they can get.  When a supposedly submissive lady indicates she is from Kentucky, Indiana, or Illinois instead of the city why should I waste my time writing only to find they are in Lexington, Ky, Gary, In, Chicago, Il when I'm in southern Indiana, (Evansville)?  If they are afraid of being located or found out by listing the city, they are too afraid to meet anyway.

GreedyTop -> RE: Location? (4/22/2009 5:35:32 AM)

There is nothing in the TOS that requires anyone to list the city they live in.  Deal with it.

At least they say the state they are in. Wait until you get the ones that say they are in Indiana and are actually in Ghana. If writing to someone that might sound interesting is a waste of your time I suggest you troll off and find something else to do. Otherwise stop whinging and make an effort.

Lucylastic -> RE: Location? (4/22/2009 5:42:05 AM)

You know what they say about making assumptions.......

DarkSteven -> RE: Location? (4/22/2009 5:51:52 AM)

You DO realize that you can search by distance in miles from your own location, right?

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Location? (4/22/2009 5:58:41 AM)

maybe you should ask them privately why they only chose to list their state on their profile.

you probably get a variety of answers from them ...if they choose to respond back.

Do you not have a car?  It's okay if you don't, but many of us do.  Many of us expect our potential dates to have one.  If I meet someone within my state or in a city close by, I understand that may require a drive to meet them.  If you're having to bum rides or take the bus in somewhere like southern Indiana, than you have other priorities that need addressing other than getting a mate.

subtlebutterfly -> RE: Location? (4/22/2009 6:25:26 AM)

*shrugs* I'm far from St Kitts..chose it 'cause out of all the places (well no I didn't check each n every one just estimated) that one has the smallest population), I have my own reasons...but I always correct it in the first 1 or 2 messages if I plan on corresponding with a person.[8|]
boy was I pissed when I discovered they'd removed the antarctica option on the other side. [>:]

Don't be so bitter geeeeez get over yourself.

oh...I also state I aint lookin anyway so *shrug*

subangi -> RE: Location? (4/22/2009 6:25:54 AM)

I do see your point.  If someone is looking to meet, it would be nice to include the city.  I am in the northern part of Ohio, and would surely not like to meet someone from Cincinatti...too long of a commute when you have a busy schedule.

What a great attitude you have. No wonder your winning over so many women on here [8|]

Arpig -> RE: Location? (4/22/2009 9:16:40 AM)

LOL I can't help but laugh at somebody complaining about the teenie distances involved in most US states....try Ontario....Now that involves some serious commutes!!

I can hang with assumptions, as I make them sometimes.  But sometimes the assumption has little basis in a big picture.  Such as your assumption that people are not serious on cm and just want to see how much mail they can get.  Where the hell does that come from?  Some would assume that some are not serious about certian things they claim because they are telling falsehoods to wank or play, but I doubt many would be here not being serious because they like getting email.  That sounds more jaded than making a realistic assumption.

Your decision to not communicate with people not close to you is your own and all well and fine, but to jump to an expectation that one should list what city they are from in an open forum rather than a more intimate and less public email with someone they are communicating with is unrealistic and could be unsafe.  It is actually a situation that could easily be cleared up with communication.  Attitude will often result in unsatisfactory situations because they preceed communication and limit it.

There are many who believe in being cautious and will take precautions, who will in fact meet with people once they feel safe.  Is it wrong to be cautious?  You seem to assume far too much when an adult decides to use caution and if you feel that way, so be it, but don't blame other's for things you cannot know when they are being wise with their life.

Your post speaks more of attitude and jaded than something coming from a realistic position or complaint.  I find myself assuming a bit here.  Like.. gee... what causes one to be so upset about little things that can be seen in a different perspective and have such attitude and need to start a thread over it?

"Supposedly" submissive? So if they don't post their GPS coordinates to make it easier for you to find someone within a 5-minute walk, they're not a twue submissive? People have lots of reasons for not posting their exact locations, and for a lot of them it has to do with making themselves feel a little safer from people who want to know too much personal information too soon. In other words, they're using that vagueness as a way of screening out the type of men who make them feel uncomfortable with unreasonable and excessive demands. Need I explain the irony here?

Damned right. In fact, I'll take it a step further. If a woman isn't serious enough to post her real name, address, phone number, and place of employment on her profile, she's not worth wasting my time on. She's obviously not really interested in meeting anyone. Impeccable logic.

LaTigresse -> RE: Location? (4/22/2009 11:34:44 AM)

Panda you wicked bear, making me snort water through my nose like that!!

Two years ago, I was ready to fly from the middle of the US to Paris France to spend time with someone I love, and perhaps move there. I am pretty sure I can drive (or she can) across the state or two, to spend time together.

I do not actually LIVE in Iowa City Iowa, but I spend approximately 45 hours a week here. You don't like it.........toooo bad.

Of all the things to whine about.............sheesh!

Damn butterfly, and here I had thoughts of visiting you next winter. I'm crushed, crushed I tell you.

When I first joined the site, I listed myself as 89 years old, because it wouldn't let me pick 100. And I wasn't looking either.
