LadyTeazer -> RE: Michael Vick Reality show ???? (4/19/2009 1:09:51 PM)

The first question that comes to my mind is why are Michael Vick and "reality" even mentioned in the same sentence? How much more obvious can it be that this...this...this, heck, I don't even know what to call him, is completely out of touch with reality? You can see it clearly on his face that he has no regret or remorse for what he did, and does not even comprehend that he did anything wrong. I hope that the people who work in TV have the common sense to not give this vile idiot a show. But that's probably not very likely to happen, TV being what it has sunk to anymore. So I hope that all the decent people still left out there boycott the show, the network that will air it, and its sponsors. Although putting Vick to work in an animal shelter sounds like a good idea, I wouldn't want him anywhere near any animal ever again. I wouldn't trust him. It wouldn't surprise me one little bit if he told his old buddies that he spotted some great dogs at the shelter that would be good to use for bait, so come on down and get them. Whatever happened to the wisdom of making the punishment fit the crime? It's too bad that I was not the judge in his case. Forget prison time. Too easy. Not even a slap on the wrist for what he did. Make him go through what he made those poor innocent dogs go through. Order him to be stripped naked, hands and ankles bound, then put in the ring with ALL of the fighting dogs, to be used as bait to get them all worked up. If he survives that, then toss his mangled stupid ass in prison for the rest of his miserable and worthless life. "Without" giving him any medical attention. Treat him just like those poor dogs were treated. Give him a taste of his own medicine. The laws in this country for animal abuse and/or neglect are MUCH too soft. And the judges are far too lenient on offenders. Until such time as the laws are changed, this disgusting type of behaviour will continue, it saddens me to say. The attitudes of the people in this country need to change, before the laws can be changed. To the vast majority, it is "just a dog/cat/ferret/horse--fill in the critter of your choice". No, it is not "just" a critter. It is a living, sentient being. And science (psychology) has proven time and time again that the people who abuse those that they see as "lesser" or weaker than themselves (be it an animal or a child or a woman), are not only disturbed, but that they will continue to abuse, and that that abuse will continue to escalate. There was one bright spot in this whole Vick thing. I read a few months ago that while he was still in prison, his house (a $3 or $4 million mansion) went up for auction. And it did not sell. NO ONE bid on it. YAY!!!!!!!!!
