This new section should either be tied to Interest Search or at least give us the choice of choosing between male or female members, so that we don't have to scroll through hundreds of journals which are not of interest.

Well, that's your opinion,  I actually find it interesting to skim through all sorts of journals, and get an overview of all folks' thoughts.

I will comment that it's faster than browsing through photos or profiles.

I wouldn't mind if they allowed you to set up filters for which journals you saw, as long as they're optional.  Quite honestly, I doubt this new feature is really going to help that much with finding potential partners.  Which I'm fine with, but if that's your sole purpose of reading journals I think you're probably wasting your time.

I'd like it if you could enable comments on journals.  As long as it's optional again- I accept not everyone would want this.

Just read a new journal entry complaining about the new journal entry feature.
Thought I'd post that here rather than enter it in my journal.

It's only wasting your time if you expect it to be.  My M actually wrote me because of something he read in my journal.  We started talking and the rest is history.  You just never know what will bring that special person into your life...be open to possibilities.

Whoever told you that was mistaken, unless you see yourself as a Fred West figure.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that you can never get to know someone by reading their journal. But I think that's largely going to be a matter of luck with the new system. People are better advised to read journals for the pleasure of doing so. If anything else springs from that, great. But anybody who is only reading journals with the goal of meeting someone are setting themselves up for disappointment.

*waves to Steven* kazza agrees with you, journal entries can be more interesting than the profile, she likes to check out journal entries just to learn about that person.

HOWEVER,  a journal entry just to complain about journal entries, or the lack of good/real/available doms/dommes/subs/slaves is annoying. Of course noone is forcing people to read the journal entries, those who don't like the feature can just not read them.

Well this new section got on my nerves in the beginning, when it blinked up red several times when it was introduced...with blinking red it always appears with a quick look from the side of your eye as if you got an email or if someone viewed you.

So IF it stays now black as it is, then I don't mind it to be there, but if it starts again to flick red on a regular basis then it annoys me, as I don't need a reminder of "newly written journals" when that personally is not really from my interest.
