I would suggest not taking it too seriously.    I do agree that it can be irritating when someone comes along and makes a completely non-productive statement like  "Who cares about this stupid question" or "sigh, not this again" etc.  Sure it's adolescent, but we can't control the way other people behave.

Also bear in mind that there is so much dysfunction in online communities....There are many private and personal issues between posters who have friendships, relationships, vendettas, agendas etc with one another, and it's not unusual for someone to jump in and twist your (generic) words if they can somehow use those words to advance their own agenda, or to send a passive aggressive message to their target du jour.   There are also a lot of people who feel the need to posture, people who enjoy drama, people who want to stir shit up, people seeking validation etc etc etc.

If someone twists your words, walk away from it.  Hopefully your post resonated with someone.  As for the rest, why bother losing sleep over it?

Do you really want to argue with people who aren't intelligent enough to read something in it's context?  Frankly I get frustrated quickly with people who can't follow the bouncing ball.  There is no purpose to arguing with them.  Nothing of value can come from trying to reason with someone who isn't capable of reason.  Sometimes it's pearls before swine, ya know.  Blow it off and go enjoy your day.

I answer posts with my own opinion based upon my experiences or education. Now some people will like my posts and some people will not. Either way it does not matter to me, an opinion was asked for and I gave it.

This is what happens when you post on the internet you may get opinions that you just do not agree with. When that happens you can either debate it with the person or just ignore their post. But you cannot tell them to change their opinion as most likely you will be met with some unkind words.

Maybe some, not all.

Me, I don't come here for help. I come here to waste time and entertainment value..but help? Not really. I usually look to people I actually know personally for that.

I see giving people advice based on my experience as a complete waste of time. They are never going to follow it unless they want to be me which they don't because they want to be them. So why they would ask me what I would do is beyond me, they don't care anyway they'll always do what they see fit.

If everyone has an opinion based on their varied backgrounds then what opinion would the op choose from those varied opinions from varied back grounds?

The majority opinion or the opinion they personally agree with? Like if I ask what colour I should paint my walls and five people say bright yellow and no one else responds am I going to paint my walls bright yellow? No because my experience tells me bright yellow would be an obvious irritation to my eyeballs and attract bug stains. Five people probably would not say bright yellow perhaps but it really depends how trendy/popular the first person to say bright yellow was.

I feel like posting in this thread. That is reason enough for me to sprinkle out my black pepper letters into words. It is okay, fine, not a problem for me to sit on my couch with my laptop on the arm of it, the tv on in the background that I am not watching, and write what the heck I want where I want as long as I dont violate TOS.

What a gas! What a hoot!

I am here pretty much for entertainment, education and to be myself. I think it is fantastic how many different ways folks respond to a thread and where the thread can go.

What is the big deal? I dont get it.

I bet a total dork could suggest bright yellow first and other trendy cool people might agree. Or a nerd would suggest it, and then the dork would endorse it and the trendy person might say, "No, no, all wrong". The unpopular person might suggest light blue and the weird lady might suggest white. The popular trendy person then could suggest bright yellow. But the well-read man might say, "How about cafe au lait to match with the sand on the beach outside" and the others would be like, "Snap he is right."

Or the trendy person might say, "No please we have seen enough of this sophisticated understated sort of color pairing with the external environment why dont we create out own environment like the inside of an egg channelling and signifying birth which would bring Immortal Life. Maybe everyone might agree because it was the cool trendy person even if the popular person's idea didnt show up til the third suggestion.

Then you might paint the whole thing green and not take any one's advice

Same here. I don't come here for help and I am sure most others don't either.

To the OP
I can't see how you can post on threads without giving an opinion on something (see that is my opinion on posting on threads!). If you are not seeking opinions from others what is the point of posting on a thread?

I gave up partway through.  Summary: Evidently you got some responses you didn't like.

can I copy can I can I can I? just did, dude you're awesome.

and in addition..I form my reply to a post in about..10 seconds..or less sometimes I've already formed a reply while still reading the post. I simply..can't bother wasting 10-20 minutes thinking about a fantastic reply that considers all the variations.
I read a post, reply, voila. Afterwards I believe it's up to the OP whether he/she likes my reply or not.
I also believe that it's up to the OP whether they take my answer and shape it in a way that suits their circumstances, because..after all the OP is the one who knows the circumstances the best.

Personally, I hate opinions and opinionated people.

Unless, of course, their opinions are the same as mine.

The reason that I posted this little "diatribe" if you may call it that, is because doing things such as what I described helps nobody.  People come here for help, and tearing a valid point (as a whole) apart by using an abstract point, does not do anybody any good.

No, it is not my job to make everyone post as I think that they should.  I am not a moderator, nor am I trying to create a new TOS.  What I am trying to do, is bring something to light that is a problem, at least from my point of view.  Such is the problem that I see with the CM message boards, is that people think that they can do whatever they want (which, being that they have freedom of speech, they technically can).  The problem with freedom of speech, is that in order for you to be useful, and contributory, you have to abide by general rules of debate.  If you cannot debate in a civil, logical, and intelligent way, your words mean diddly squat, and you are obviously trying to stir the proverbial pot.

This last weekend I remember reading and contributing to a thread that the OP created specifically to whine that they felt no one was paying any attention to them.

I posted on that thread that there are many people that post on here, that I ignore and gave various reasons why.

Until this thread, I seem to have ignored your posts. Then I see a thread that some put.....ahhh PERSON creates, other than a Mod, telling everyone how they should respond to a post. I open it up to see what kind of foolish put....person would be that ahhhh.....foolish.

Now I understand why I have no recollection of any previous posts written by you.

This thread is the dommy version of the other person's whiney thread. So, tell me, if we are not particularly impressed with your posts people, are we supposed to ignore them, or disagree??? I could do what comes naturally but then Mme Eleven and I would become better aquainted than I have a desire for.

Quite your damned whining.
