Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! • Karl Rove calls Vice President Joe Biden a 'blowhard' and 'liar' Karl Rove called Joe Biden a “blowhard” and a “liar” in response to some of the vice president’s comments about the Bush administration. "He’s a serial exaggerator. If I was being unkind I would say he’s a liar, but it’s a habit he ought to drop,” Rove said on FOX News. "You should not exaggerate and lie like this when you are the vice president of the United States.” Rove's comments are the harshest and most pointed yet in an ongoing feud between Biden and Bush administration officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney. The former Bush adviser was referring to Biden’s comments earlier this week on CNN that he and President George W. Bush once had an exchange in the Oval Office, where Bush said, "Well, Joe ... I'm a leader,” and Biden responded: “Mr. President, turn around and look behind you. No one is following.”

The former Bush adviser was referring to Biden’s comments earlier this week on CNN that he and President George W. Bush once had an exchange in the Oval Office, where Bush said, "Well, Joe ... I'm a leader,” and Biden responded: “Mr. President, turn around and look behind you. No one is following.” I would have liked to been there when THAT was said!!! OMG, how really funny.

As much as I hate Rove, I wouldn't be surprised if he were telling the truth about this. This has been Biden's problem as far back as i can remember, shooting his mouth off and playing fast and loose with the facts. In fact, that's what blew him out of the presidential race in 1988, his word-for-word lifting of part of a speech by an Irish politican passed off as a spontaneous observation. That's his history, and I don't believe anything that comes out of his mouth. The fact that Karl Rove (of all people) is calling him a liar can be seen as ironic, but it can also be seen as a pretty damning condemnation when one of the most dishonest people in the history of American politics is calling you out as a liar.

I disagree with you, Panda. You're arguing that being a liar gives Rove credentials. Do you see that it's completely illogical? Personally, I take Rove's attack as a certificate that Biden has an upstanding moral character.

My argument is that even liars are right sometimes, and given Biden's documented history of lying (going all the way back to law school, when he was caught plagiarizing another student's law review article), Rove may be right when he says Biden is lying this time, too. Biden is a lot of things, and I think he makes a decent Vice President, but one thing he absolutey is not is a man of upstanding moral character.

Yeah, Rove is absolutely the pot calling the kettle black. I think they're both pretty worthless but the kettle definitely is black. Joe has has been busted either playing fast and loose with the facts or outright lying so many times it's amazing to me that anyone who is even moderately well read about politics would suggest that the guy possesses upstanding moral character.

I have to say that when I first read the title, I thought good god, theres the pot calling the kettle grimy arse. I know of Roves penchant for being a lying scum sucking ditch pig, but I know very little about Biden so I cant call anything on that.sighs more research..... Lucy

Are you quite sure we have the number of available troops to satisfy the General's requests? I know that some enlistments are up but, without requiring troops that have already done their tours to stay it might not be possible now or when Bush was President to send the numbers requested. Now that they have stopped the involuntary stays "in country" especially.
