In my new apartment, I have had to improvise quite a bit in my ways of bondage and positioning. Closet racks, chains across door hinges, etc. I am looking for other ideas others have had when altering your living space is not an option and you lack the professional equipment. Share your creativity with me!

It was some time after New Year's that clip and I were walking through the store. There were a lot of new items out that you could tell were geared toward many people's favorite New Year's resolution, getting in shape. There was one product that caught My eye because it would be so easily used when one doesn't have a cross at home. It was designed to be used over the top of a door for pull ups. I'm thinking, all one would have to do would be to tie the hands to the bars and voila! Instant standing sub restraint.

HAHAHAHA....I was actually thinking about this very topic just a few moments ago. I know it must have been addressed on this site at least 10 times already but since there are always new people coming to the lifestyle whom would be looking for ideas to make play spaces and quick assembly and disassembly of said spaces it is good to keep repeating threads like this. Or, at least adding to them. Ok a few ideas, one: ROPES lots of them and two books from Two Knotty Boys. Search that name and you'll find them.(These books show how to use ropes and knot making to make nearly anything you wish) As for what to do with them one particular rope knot in genenral is what I like to call the door jamb loop. A simple knot, take a rope about 3 feet long make a loop at the center of the rope.Tie a knot so the loop stays secure. Then with the two tails a few inches down make a second knot. Now you take the rope and place it on top of an open door (one knot on one side of door then the second knot and loop on the other side of the top of the door.) Close the door and voila instant restraint. Two; Massage table, they are adjustable and it is easy to restrain a body to them. They are also quite comfy for a sub to lay upon for long periods of time and I have found a few in local thrift shops now and again for under 100$. Three: this one requires a bit of skill. Local hardware store time ( A Dom's best friend) goto the electrical dept. You want 3/4" and 1/2" EMT (Electrical Metalic Tubing) Wood dowels approx the interior diameter of the 3/4" and the 1/2" EMT, 1/8" machine thread eyebolts (with nuts) 1/8" bolts (again with nuts) and some Electrical tape (any color you fancy.) Take said EMT and cut it to 3ft legnths. Then (and be careful here drill holes starting 1" from the ends spacing every 2 to three inches along the emt. Take the eyebolts and place one at one end of the 3/4" emt and one at one end of the 1/2" emt. Take a small piece of dowel sized for the 3/4" and one sized for the 1/2" and beat it into the end with the eyebolt then wrap where the metal tubing and wood meet. (This is to help keep any sub from getting a scratch when they struggle. Now slide the 1/2" EMT into the 3/4" and lock it into place with one of the regular bolts to whatever distance would be needed for the scene. It takes a bit of practice in using it so you know how to set them to prevent any bruises when subes struggle but what you get in effect is a strong sturdy adjustable spreader/restraint bar that cost you about 10 bucks and some effort. Four: Shop at thrift stores as there are usually many items there that can be easily converted into play toys and the furntature there is at most times very good for restraining a sub to. (many securing points are a must: rod iron, whicker, chairs and couches with spindles. ETC) And items that are great for securement PULLIES PULLIES PULLIES. Learn how they work, where they can be placed, and think about them constantly they are fun. Add them to a strong plant hanger secured to a strong beam or joist in the ceiling or to a heavy couch to restrain legs and arms or to use them to add a tiny bit of pressure when playing and a sub gets the point when spoken to. (Just be cautious to not pull all that hard) Just some quick ideas off the top of My head..............

One idea which I have used and will do so again, is to purchase either second hand or if affordable, new scaffolding. The advantage is that you can buy enough to male a basic frame and keep adding to it as finances allow. If second hand, I like to clean off any rust and cement etc prime with an anti rust and then paint black. prior tp this, I'll weld on shackle or tie points as needed. Of course of you decorate in an industrial Goth manner the scaffolding just blends in as far as visitors go.. I'm actually planning this very set up for my car port as soon as I have the concrete slab and sheds up for my workshop and storage area..

Like a smaller version of a normal scaffolding. I see them in pawn shops quite often and they are usually a bit cleaner and easier to manage. As they are smaller they can double as a table or rack.

Good point, however I don't think we have them here and seeing that I use the scaffolding to suspend all manner of things I prefer the more sturdy commercial type. Besides which I can at almost no cost make and fit a good number of interesting arming points (so to speak).. I'd say that a good look in what ever area any one lived including construction scrap can come up with many useful items. I have a mate who resurrected old treads from a tank and now has a rack on which he can place a girl so she is curved exposing her body for ease of handling and usage. he also did similar with an one conveyor belts assembly by bringing the rollers close together. He simply found it in a disused feed store and offered to remove it for the owners who even paid him to get rid of it.. That's why I love poking about in salvage yards and disused factories..

Aye, I love salvage yards and thrift stores. What one person discards I rebuilt or retool to make a useful item from. I like the idea of the conveyor belt and rollers. Perhaps useing a belt in itself can be applied in some fashion. But as for a home or apartment I like to keep the items small and easily moveable.

A couple of lock hasps screwed to a wall stud make great attachment points for shackles. Hang a picture over them when not in use, fill the screw holes with toothpaste when you move. Any apartment will look nicer with a sub shackled to the wall with hands wide and just above the head. And as Master Raid said, pulleys! They are cheap at the hardware store... and you can use them to pull a resistant slave's legs wider. With four of these you won't need a cross. A couple of leather belts over a door work well. Tie a knot to adjust the height and close the door, lock the cuffs to the buckle. This works in hotel rooms too. A few spreader bars made from wood closet dowel rods and some screw eyes will give you options of how and where to tie your victim to your restraint points. Four dog leashes, one on each leg of the bed, will hold your sub in place. You can attach the spreader bars here as well, even position them on the floor. Plastic covered wire for clothes line makes a nice tether if you want you sub to be able to move around but not leave. Use a lock hasp screwed to the base of the wall to lock one end, a leg cuff on the other end... perfect for bath room breaks or sending them to make morning coffee. Hide the hasp in a closet and let the length of the cable reach various rooms but not the front door. Places like Tractor Supply Company and West Marine have tools in the store that you can use to crimp ferrules on the cable to make small loops in each end so you can put a lock through them. One heavy duty ceiling hook and a hanging plant will provide a great hidden bondage point. Didn't someone mention pulleys? Don't try to suspend anyone in an apartment (advice disclaimer: you have no idea how well built the ceiling joists are unless you check them yourself) but an overhead pulley and a spreader bar offer a lot of possibilities! Try positioning the ceiling hook next to the bed rather than over it and you will have more options plus it will not look so obvious. Find the edges of the ceiling joists with a small nail and make sure you hit the center of the 2x4. Pilot drill (or nail) the hole so the screw eye won't split the joist. A pulley and spreader will let you suspend legs while lying on the bed or have them stand next to the bed while you sit. Coffee tables and ottomans are useful and vanilla in appearance, won't fill your apartment. Not as tall as a horse, but just as effective if you have plenty of rope. Dog collar chains are great, buy several sizes in matching pairs. The links in bigger ones have enough room to fit a small padlock through so you can adjust the length as needed. These can lock directly to ankles and wrists if the lock fits the links. With a larger pad lock the chain can slip though so the length can be shortened without using keys, just pull the chains tighter and add another lock to the ring end. I like these between wrist cuffs so I can just grab the ring to pull the wrists close at any moment I choose. Hope this helps you!

Hi I’m new here and just checking out the site… I have to add that one of my favorite places to shop for BDSM gear is at Military Surplus stores. I have picked up a number of useful things for few little money. Chemical mask, storage (toy) boxes, medical equipment and utility candles for wax play just to name a few. I have rolls of cotton web, utility rope, tension straps and pulleys in old cargo bags. Most is brand new and coast much less than at hard wear stores. There are two things that I’m looking at adding now. The first is a parachute harness. Hang it from a door frame or free standing frame, it would be great for suspension of a sub for play or sex. It’s only $40 and I think worth every dime. The other is an Army Orthopedic Medical bed. It has adjustable sides that let you raise and lock it, ideal for sitting the sub up in bed. It has a side pouch for storage (keeping toys close at hand) and a swing away tray. There are T-bars at the head and foot of the bed, great for suspending the hands above the head and spreading and tying the legs apart. The whole thing holds up in half and will slide under my bed when not in use. I have a massage table that I use, but this is much lighter and has lots of extra equipment. Hardbutt, Yep agree with the closet rods or larger dowels as spreader bars with many uses. I have several. Hardwares store quick clips like the attachment part of a dog collar are inexpensive and easy to use along with eyebolts that can be easily screwed or bolted into the rods. A weight bench is very useful. Suspension is the most difficult aspect of equipment play aid even for us that own a home unless you have a basement if you need to undergo an occasional vanilla inspection..

a great item is a porch swing. the kind that stand alone and has a bar across the top. take the swing off and its great for restraining someone. it can be put on the porch or easily disassembled to store it. also if you can find one a Murphy bed. it folds up against the wall. great for adding extra room and it is great to tie someone to. just some ideas for small spaces.

Read all the ideas ... nobody has mentioned a box ... a wooden box ... long enough to fit her curled in ... wide enough so her knees aren't in her face ... yet small enough to keep her wanting to be out and about ... when and if she performs her duties well ... just an idea ... to add to the mix ... You can even use the box as a nightstand ...

In the movie Tomcats, there's a scene where a cute red-headed librarian turns her middle-school pink and white room into a dungeon. The bed flops up and becomes a rack, teddy bear arms become cuffs, the closet flits around Batman style to reveal her paddles and floggers... While just a tiny bit far fetched, I've always been interested in making vanilla space kink friendly. I found my greatest ally in eye hooks. Imagine a metal O-ring sticking out of the wall, which can hold 200 lbs of force, easily. Eye hooks, clips or carabiners, and cuffs with D rings makes any wall a rack. Put some eye hooks into the roof and you can hang a chain for instant vertical bondage. With eye hooks on two parallel walls, rope from hook to wrist makes a great standing flogging post. Using stools, ottomans and chairs liberator style, various positions can be easily accomplished. While it may not have the cold hardcore look of a big steel standalone doggy-style contraption, an eye hook in the ground, chained to a collar's D-right, with wall based hooks flying to the wrists, and short chains from more hooks on the ground to the ankle does the same things for $50. (Be careful putting eye hooks into the floor, they can trip someone very easily). Mounting all those hooks is stupidly easy - HILTI makes a great chemical fastener which can hold some 500 lbs of force. Trust me, it's idiot proof. When you're not using all those fastened mounting points for wonderful bondage, they can hold suspended plants or paintings to the roof and wall. Ones on the floor should be covered with furniture, (again) to avoid tripping. I think it's a shame most people don't make good use of their walls. Such a useful flat surface... In theory, with 20 hooks, 20 lengths of rope or chain, and a borrowed power drill, you could have a wonderful dungeon which can hold a slave in any position (suspension included) for less than $45. My newest construction kink: A large frame, resembling a toy box, forcing perspective so whoever is inside looks like a NIB blow up doll.
