I found that with my dog, it was something in tall grasses during a certain time of year. Given the time of year here, it shouldn't be that.

Yes, given the fact that it keeps fracken SNOWING here! I shoveled about 6 inches off my driveway yesterday...@$%^*#!

I've done the washing everything dealio, although I should shampoodle the carpets again. Anyone make any "green" homemade carpet shampoo?

Thank you LeeAnn

T,

Sorry you and yours are having trouble.

A brief thought on "all natural" and green type products.

Not everything that is all natural is healthy. Arsenic is all natural. Lead, and other heavy metals are all natural. Plutonium is all natural. Allergies are most common in response to natural things.

Natural is preferred by me over sythetic and/or chemical but those types of products aren't a panacea or a guarantee.

I'm assuming a woman of your quality and intelligence will be cautious and do sufficient due diligence.

Good luck.

Uncle Nasty

Hi! Thank you for the link and jeez I can imagine the adrenaline rush and fear you had with your Sophie. Very cool what you did for her! What was the oatmeal liquid?

My son is taking Tru to the herbalist today. We'll see what she recommends!

The oatmeal slime was made by me grabbing a big mixing bowl, dumping about 1 1/2 c. (very approximate) regular old dry oatmeal in, filling the bowl the rest of the way with boiling water and letting it sit. Then using an old screen sieve over another bowl, slowly pooring the oatmeal goo into the sieve. Let it sit and drain, all the chunky stuff I didn't want going down my bathtub drain was in the sieve and slime in the bowl under it. I just smeared her with the slime from tip of nose to tip of tail, rubbing in really good. Then rinsed with the tea concentrate.

Princess Sophie was not impressed.......but her bumps went away. I need to put a photo of La Princessa on the "other" site, that allows such things.......

Hey UN, how are you?

You're right, natural can be very dangerous...I've been all over the Interwebs, but that's why I came here too. You guys are so cool.

Thanks very much,

~Tee

Breathing a big sigh of relief for you, La T.  That was brilliant of you to use the oatmeal and tea.  Not something that most of us would have thought to do.

I just viewed your photos and there are 2 close-ups of you and one of you on horseback, no doggies yet.

Here is information on some different modalities to treat allergies in dogs:

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/pic/article.cfm?aid=1044

If Benadryl doesn't work another antihistamine might help.

I know for my mother's dog they tried adding safflower oil to his diet and they tried him on amitriptyline.

Finding the right combination will take awhile and I know it is heart wrenching to watch our fur babies suffer.
