It is with regret that I must announce that the current financial problems in the UK are not part of some global crisis as the Prime Minister maintains. Rather, they are the final revelation of a plot for revenge that has been in the making these last three hundred years, since the failure of the Darien Expedition and the resulting Act Of Union whereby a bankrupt and derelict Scotland was joined to England in the greatest financial bail out of the age.
Oh yes, ye romantic lovers of Scottish culture and ye faithful believers in English oppression – the reason that Scotland lost its sovereignty was not the awful Anglo-Saxons from south of the border – Scotland did it all of its own accord, and in fact it was those awful Anglo-Saxons that had to rescue a broken Scottish economy and a people that would otherwise have starved.
And the similarities of that episode with the current financial crisis are striking; Scottish over exposure to risky American investments characterise both. One might say, this current crisis would be poetic vengeance on the English for the Scottish humiliation that ensued from the Darien Expedition, were one of a mind to see such a plot.
Two Scottish Prime Ministers – Blair and Brown, two Scottish chancellors – Brown and Darling that oversaw two Scottish banks – HBOS and RBS, operated by Scots, two instances of Scottish over exposure to risky American investments that cost England a disastrous sum to put right.
But its clear that not all Scots may have been in on the plot. After all there have been some funny goings on regarding Scottish MPs and MSPs these last few years and these could easily be seen for attempts to silence dissenters and those that might compromise the plot; the untimely deaths of two Scottish MPs, the bizarre discrediting of two Scottish leaders of the Liberal Democrats, the curious case of the discrediting and de-selection of the Scottish Labour MP with sleaze allegations, George Galloway undermined and discredited by media manipulations, and attempts to do the same to Alex Salmond leader of the Scottish Nationalists who could have killed the whole plot with his call for Scottish independence that would have left Scotland holding the baby again.
None of this can be coincidence. Throw into the whole thing the Scottish inspired government decisions whereby the English pub is in decline whilst the drinking holes north of the border (also known as shopping centres, multi-storey car parks and street corners) are thriving and it is clear that the Scottish cabal running the UK are sworn to destroy us; and this without considering the steady drain on English tax revenues to fund Scottish welfare programs unavailable south of the border.
All in all, it’s a good thing I’ve had a few drinks on top of my painkillers today as otherwise I’d have thought all this was just another manifestation of my clinical paranoia and I’d never have been able to issue this announcement.
