So, are these bonuses, which would be taxed as income already, going to be doubly taxed? 
Not to mention the glee at state taxes sucking up the rest of these bonuses.

What are some of the unintended consequences of this proposal?
I'm not saying it was right for the bonuses to be there...but when a contract isn't a contract, then we have some REAL problems coming for all of us in the future...

If it was you on the receiving end of the new tax, how would you react?
I'd be pissed....I've a contract and it is being nullified without regard to the Constitution's prohibition on said interference. I'm sure there are lawyers just chomping at the bit to get these cases.

I have to say, that is a good way to test reality.

and yeah, the legislative branch does not have the constitutional power to do this...but that hasn't stopped them for a while now.
