I was going to leave this one alone because if I really got started I think the entire internet would self destruct. However I remembered something that is not oft mentioned. Foreign aid. I will splain how this works. The US govt gives our tax money to foreign countries, part of which is used to fund lobbyists who obviously lobby for more foreign aid. Who knows how many billions of dollars this costs us every year ? I'm sure the amount could be found for the looking. I am also pretty sure (but don't take it to the bank) that foreign aid increases faster than the COLAs for our retirees. I'm pretty sure the amount is over a hundred billion a year, but that doesn't mean anything. What does is that this is theft plain and simple. It is also a very real conspiracy, and on top of that it is our supposed representatives in collusion with foreign nationals. Could be called treason I would think. How does that grab ya ? T

Thankfully we have open elections in this state. I've never had to register as anything. I have been trying not to pay attention to this gigantic cluster-fuck. When those lying sacks of shit in Congress try to pretend they didn't know about AIG bonuses, I'm in awe that they are able to do it with a straight face. Like I said, I'm trying to ignore it. There isn't anything I can do about it until the next election, and I find life much more enjoyable when you focus on other things besides the activities of politicians. Nothing but snake oil salesmen, the whole lot of them.

I think it's even better than that SB, they don't have any snake oil. They do seem to have some opaque bottles which are empty, so you only think you are getting the snake oil. T

~ Fast Reply ~ No need to change party affiliation - just vote NO. Vote against EVERY incumbent regardless of party affiliation in each and every election from school boards to presidential, as I do. Eventually and with enough doing the same - the message will get across. Perhaps the names won't change, but I'd suggest their attention to the electorate will get closer to the attention they currently give to their PAC and 'special interest' pay masters.

This is why I don't bother with the Parties. They are all morons, just some are less moronic than the others. The trick is to ignore the debates and all that shit, do your own research, then pick the idiot who isn't as much of an idiot as the others. All that political smack just confuses the hell out of me.

In my lovely backwards state registering "Indy" does little good as the GOP and Dems have a stranglehold and passed laws stating that if not registered with either, you can not vote in state primaries. So registering Lib/Indy/Green does little good. Both parties suck.

I guess it's an oxymoron than political parties are populated with POLITICIANS! The particular breed of homo sapien comes to the party with an "agenda" and not a plan...they do thhisings under the guise of working for the "American people"....and just enrich themselves and their friends. Like you, I have been a lifelong member of one party..the one on the other side of the aisle. I stopped donating to the RNC at least 3-4 years ago when they were at their height of raping the public treasury. This feasting on the productive energy of hard working people continues today democrat leadership....and we may still be on our way into a depression with this dysfunctional Congress...dysfunctional in the sense of not being productive for America....because they sure know how to take care of themselves.....along with an Administration that promised "change" and, insteadk, may be giving us "revolution". Looking at the glass being half-filled, I would hope that our country does what it always does in times of "crisis"...find true leaders emerging from the shadows. It doesn't make one feel better just to bitch..and it certainly gets the moderators panties twisted. However, this is a time for us to ALL bitch to our representatives in Washington...Before we are democrats or republicans or libertarians...we are Americans...and have a right to petition our government...it's in the constitution. T Term, you hit the nail on the head. Last year's foreign aid budget was $34.8 B. Also you need to count all those State Dept give aways and other things as well which probably come out to $60-$80 B. There are so many people making money from foreign aid that it's rediculous! The Virginia suburbs of Wash, D.C. have taken over the #1 spot as wealthiest neighborhoods in the country because of all the lobbyists from K Street who live there! It was always the Connecticut suburbs of NYC for decades. I, and a lot of people in this country don't think that it's the job description of our government to be giving our money away to foreign countries. President Obama ran on "Change", maybe he'll cancell all that stuff. One thing for sure is that the people who want to continue it have all kinds of reasons why it's a "good thing" and they are also very close to the people making money from it hand over fist. I wonder how many "nephews", "neices" are making $80-$120k in those lobbying offices rather that $40k in the D.P.S.? (dreaded private sector)

the 1.2 tril just announced ISSSSSSSSSSSS a dollar devaluation. both parties are in effect- agents of international financiers. want to fix it? get involved in your states 10th amendment push. You would be surprised how this movement is going.

~FR~ My Rant It is not just about the politicians that know that they are no longer servants of the people. These politicians have neough sheeple base to keep them elected. To get them out, another politician creates a sheeple base to vote for him, so they are both trying to gain more sheeple that than the other. The entire time they are whoring themselves out to who ever can give them the most money and influence to use in this battle, this is their true base. The sheeple buy into it, and we see it on thos forum all the time. Someone from one party does something and someone rips them for it, but when their party does something similar they are willing to offer all kinds of excuses and justifications. These are the sheeple that are the biggest problem, because without their votes people would be an independent and vote for whoever they felt could truly do the best job. I am with Merc about the political revolution. Call it the "Anti I" campaign, for anti incumbent. Until sheeple decide they want to be people and just turn over the entire system, the politicians are going to keep doing what they are doing. We get the government we deserve. Think about that. The change starts with just a single person, YOU.
