Wow. Nice benefits you guyz get over on the other side of the pond! Good to be British! Altho, being 24 pounds does sound a lot better than being 300 pounds. Or however that translates. lol

They said: "It's not our fault we can't work. We deserve more." That sense of entitlement irritates me no matter who it's coming from. Why do they "deserve" anything let alone "more"? Stop whining, stop eating crap and pull your own weight (pun intended

Do they not hire Truck Drivers, Pastry Chefs, Bank Guards, in the UK?

Hell, why is one of them in school to begin with if she's too fat to work? Does she want to say "I have a degree but I'm too fat to work?" I guess she's just working on that Mrs Degree. Otherwise, what a waste of dough.

Hell, I had a teacher in the 4th grade that can eat them for brunch.

The part that drove me nuts was that she said they were too poor to eat healthily!! That is the most BS excuse ever. Also being overweight is a genetic issue, and hunger and other genetic aspects that science can't totally explain does cause a person to be fat when otherwise they would not be. However.... eating 1000 calories MORE than what is recommended is going to make ANYONE fat unless they exercise those extra calories off in addition to the minimum it takes to live.

I don't think they need more money, but help from a basic nutritionist.

Seriously they making overweight and disabled people every where look bad, its just too pompous and stupid at the same time.

I was in a good mood until I witnessed that. Those people look exactly like the people I see at the convenience store, buying chips and sodas with the fucking link card all the time. It enrages me every time I see that crap. It's always a meth head or a 400 lb woman with loud bratty kids. I'm not saying all overweight people are are on welfare, however, it seems a disproportionate amount are.

Anyway, yeah, I'd just let their fatasses starve for a few days, and put a basket of food at the top of a tall hill, then I bet they'd get garner the energy to move a bit.

Being fat should no longer be considered disabled nor treatable diabetes, with all the phone support jobs,along with this new invention we call the INTERNET, Fat, skinny, short, tall, in a wheelchair, as long as your hands, eyes, and mouth works, your ass is employable. If you can't find a job, then make websites, you'll make a little money from them, at least you'd be doing something, and making some money, better than nothing.

Oh, what's that excuse,,,, You don't have the money to rent the webspace, you don't need any fucking money. OH, what's that, you don't know how to make websites, well, if your unemployed, maybe you could pick up a skill, there is a thing called google which will lead you to any information you need. Oh, what's that, you're just a lazy ass. Well, now we reach the truth.

Fucking Hell, I hate those people. Excuses, Excuses, Excuses. Blah, Blah, Blah...

Yeah, the state is acting as their enabler.
They should send a trainer by every morning @ 0600 and at 1800 hrs for a brish walk around the neighborhood for an hour each day then after 3 months I'd like to see their picture.
They should be walking two hours a day everyday!
I'm 58, a DAV , arthritis in my spine, hips, shoulders, and elsewhere, can't bend and touch my knees much less my shins or toes and I could walk circles around these hungry hippos!

Dearie me, I don't know who they think they're kidding.

My daughter is 25, raising a 6yr old alone and lives on benefits at the moment, following a stroke.

She's got a couple of stone to lose too, due to not being able to exercise as she recovered from the paralysis...........and yet she has stretched her money to cover a gym membership, has enrolled at college to do a hairdressing course, which also came out of her benefits.

It's not mentioned in the article , but these people will also have their rent paid because they are on benefits , they also have reduced council tax.

No-one in the UK, on benefits, can claim they cannot eat healthily. Chicken and vegetables cost peanuts here and the claim that there *isn't time to exercise* is just silly.

It's quite bewildering that a gastric band op would be considered for someone that eats pie, mash chips and bacon butties as their staple diet. It'd better serve to educate them about eating crap day in and day out.

Quite honestly, it's almost impossible to be THAT ignorant about nutrition in this country unless you are a hermit, don't have TV and never read a newspaper and never set foot in a supermarket, where it's blazed on food * HEALTHY OPTION*.
Children are educated here from age 4 yrs on nutrition and it continues throught school life and beyond.

Even if they are *genetically* overweight.........the diet they have only excaberbates it and only willful ignorance could explain their claims.

Yeah but if the state REMOTELY hinted they should lose weight or indicated that in order to receive anymore money they would be required to meet with a trainer and exercice and meet with a nutritionist to lose weight they would scream discrimination and violation of civil rights to remain fat. These people are full of it and the precedent they set for their daughters who seem to be following is a disgrace. I think with what they are proclaimimg publically lol the State should send a budget shopper to show with them every week to show them how they can buy healthy low-cal, low carb food on a budget.

Unfortunately none of what they are receiving money for IS for being too fat so the State can't enforce anything. They have it all tied up in other reasons.

Well, I fear they won't have the problem all too much longer...at least the adults. He already has diabetes and heart disease, they didn't mention what the Mrs had. The ones I feel sorry for the most are the kids. They've had no example, no lessons, no education on the right ways to eat and the fall out from not eating right. Just another example of ignorance....and the cycle goes on.
