Can someone explain to me why Janeane Garofalo is on the news talkin politics?? Is this the new role for comedians who can't write new material, they start doing the new shows so they (the networks) can attempt to seem hip like the Daily Show????

Garofalo was on The Daily Show because she was named as one of the "Top Five Evil Liberals" by the asshat who was on O'Riley's waste of airtime. (I can't remember the guy's name, but he was the same one who put out a list of "people who are ruining America." One of his fanatical far right followers then grabbed his constitutionally protected gun, and went on a shooting rampage, gunning down innocent church goers,[among others] since he couldn't get close to any of those people on the asshat's list.)

It's just another case of the right wing stirring up hatred against anyone they brand "the enemy." In Garofalo's case, she was just doing what any progressive would do: fighting the GOP fatwa by appearing unafraid on TV, being cute, and funny.
