It is not always subtle with some women either, that's for sure! [:'(] Some sorority hazing has led to pledges being killed. Don't get me wrong -- I know that fraternity hazing has led to people being killed as well. Disgusting.

ETA: But I wonder if there is a difference? The situations you mention seem to be based on the ‘ladies’ excluding some one. What has been suggested in this thread is that hazing is more intended to include someone.

Personally I am in principle against much of the hazing which I see as different to initiation rites where the applicant is tested under psychologically difficult situations.
