i've seen aerosmith in concert three times, all were excellent concerts.  saw pink floyd about 25 yrs ago, they came with their own cloud of smoke.

They alread are touring together BK. I was just reading a great review of it yesterday in this week's Rolling Stone. That would be a great show!

RE:  Billy Joel/Elton John
Awesome!  [:D]  Now I have to figure out where they'll be near here, and how I'm going to be able to get tickets, with BB King being here, and Huey Lewis w/News being close by, both very soon.

EDIT:  I used the term 'rumour', because it came from Partner 1, whose info isn't always the most accurate, and I hadn't looked into it farther since then. ;)

All of you are wrong. The best band live is Iron Maiden, hands down.

Sorry Geoff but I disagree....It's Judas Priest! [:D]

Neither of you have ever been to a Motorhead concert then?

youngsubgeoff -> RE: Sorry, I wuz wrong! (3/14/2009 8:24:28 PM)

oh I saw motorhead last year in pittsbug with priest on the metal masters tour. I still think iron maiden is best.

Gotta agree with HippieK..... Best live shows ever were the Dead.
Aerosmith a close second. I use to catch them at a local club in Kenmore Square < Boston> before they made it into the big time. That's where I developed a HUGE lust for Steven Tyler, which persists to this day.
Yes, sadly, at 51 I would gladly be a groupie for one night of heat between the sheets with him.

I think the best live show I've ever seen was Rob Zombie.
Judas Priest is a close second. He has some amazing coats! :D

I saw Judas Priest, Motorhead, Heaven and Hell and Testament live last year and I thought all of them were awesome, just Priest put on the better show. Sound-wise, Priest and Motorhead were the best - but I'll always keep Rob Zombie on a high, high pedestal.
:)

ThatDamnedPanda -> RE: Sorry, I wuz wrong! (3/15/2009 10:01:48 PM)

I agree, the Dead were the best live band I've ever seen. Saw them about 35 times. Stevie Ray Vaughan was next best, but now he's dead. Not Dead, but dead. You know what i mean. Anyway, I saw him about a dozen times. Not enough; nowhere near enough. Santana, back in the old days, was probably #3.

Best live band that's still alive is Los Lobos. Seen them about 25, maybe 30 times. On a good night, it's like an old  Dead show, except the musicians aren't tripping. When they're on, nobody can touch them. Allman Brothers still put on a hell of a show, too, if you like jam bands. I've been lucky. I absolutely love live music, and I've been fortunate to see bazillions of terrific acts - The Who, the Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, Bob Dylan.... I've seen all of them at least 5 or 6 times each, plus Nirvana, Neil Young, CSNY, B.B. King, Paul McCartney, Chili Peppers, Kansas, Aerosmith, REO, ZZ Top, Black Crowes, Springsteen, the Kinks, Pink Floyd, Johnnie Winter, John Mayall, Robin Ford, Warren Zevon, Jonathan Richman (who put on what I think was the most cynically brilliant piece of stagecraft I've ever seen, and only about 6 people in the whole place got it), the Blasters, the Stray Cats, Beach Boys, Moody Blues, Labelle, Joan Jett, Ray Charles, Dave Mason, Reveren Horton Heat, Wilco, Iggy Pop, Seger, Ted Nugent, Taj Mahal, Uncle Tupelo, Doctor John, Van Morrison, and god only knows how many I'm forgetting.

I seldom pass up a chance to see a good band, because you never know when you're going to catch them on one of those magical nights when everything a band does not only works, but works better than they expected. And you come away knowing you saw something really special, really rare. And you remember it all your life. Those nights don't happen often, but often enough that it's worth going as often as you can just so you catch one every now and then.

Just dont go see Stevie Nicks sing live..she is just so god awful. *I* could do a better job than her. Now, the real singer in that band was Christine McVie..that girl could sing!

Showing her age, MoGa

OMG!!!!  I so agree. Let me know if it's okay to send you a personal account of Christy on the other side!
