Now, I respect the dangers associated with asphyxiation and suffocation scenes, and yet I cannot stay away... certainly most of you can understand.  I've found that some woman practice this somewhat taboo fetish, but I've yet to meet someone who truly enjoys this type of edge play herself.

Do air tight penalty boxes count?

Breath control is my number one fetish outside of bondage. However...I am cautious to the core, so I tend to only roleplay it, except for some gloved hand-over-mouth stuff, some creative gags and telling a man to hold his breath if he knows what's good for him.  While I watch.  That can keep me entertained for hours.

Beyond that, for more intimate partners, smothering and forced (I should say, "forced") oral worship, whatever you may call it..yeah.  But still, I can't get enough of the idea of converting a hockey penalty box into my *own* type of penalty box, but that won't be happening -- except in my head **

Yes, I do enjoy the fetish.  No, I tend to avoid real strangulation, which has unpredictable results.  I tend to like the men who are close to me for their brains as much or more than their bodies.  Rendering one braindead for the sake of a sex game is an unacceptable risk.

Are you asking if there are any women who like to have this done to them or any who do this to someone else?

I will only say... I care for a son (adult) with anoxic brain injury and have done research and know how many who enjoy this, have had things go wrong and what is sometimes left from what seemed so thought out and done right.  I know what isn't available in information for those left to care for them... I know that little medical protocal is something I find worthy or even helpful to many and that we don't have the facilities to care for them properly.  And I know that there aren't many talking about it because they are so overwhelmed in caring for their loved one's that they just can't handle much more and when they do have time, they are escaping the day to day of it and where this accident has put them in life.

Looking into the face of a loved one who is gone... who looks mostly normal, young and healthy, who has far less brain cells to work with is heart breaking.  Anoxic brain injury is not like other forms of brain injury where it can be located in one or two spots, but is found all over the brain, which will affect all sorts of things and doesn't have the healing rate or expectations like other brain injuries.  Those brain cells are dead and there is no rebirth.

I'd rather play on the freeway blindfolded.

I am a slave who loves this type of play a great deal.  I know my Lord loves the feeling of complete and utter control he has when he holds my life in his hands - so literally.  I am sure that there are Mistresses out there who feel the same - it may just take a bit to find one who does.

When I was training with a Domme learning skills like these. She was heavily into edge play.   She was an edgy type person where I am more subdued and laid back. 
I allowed her to do needle play on my slave,  and I nearly passed out while she was doing it, and I merely assisted her. He did pass out when she put him in the cage.  He said he was is sub/slave space for three days, and I believe it because I saw his behavior. 
It is not for everyone, and you need a lot of personal training with a Dom/me before you try it on your own.

The most I've done with breath play is having my mouth and nose covered by a hand.  I've read too many horror stories about play gone wrong to consent to certain things.  My fantasies are completely different from what I will allow myself to be subjected to.  I just think breath play in extreme forms is asking for trouble.

For God's sake, A.  OK - you said once before I was a wimp and maybe you're right.  But, jeez,  you do alarm me sometimes.  What the fackenell was that stuff about 'converted hockey penalty boxes'?

I love the idea of breath play, and I will do a little smothering with ahem... well, SMOTHERING, okay?  But, a very dear dominant friend died as a result of breath play gone horribly wrong, and since then, it's just not something that I indulge in.  No duct tape over the mouth, no carotid takedowns, nothing that interferes with the free flow of oxygen to the brain.

I assume you are being a little silly and are not SERIOUSLY offput by this. It's all fantasy, as I noted. But incredibly hot when roleplayed effectively. I have a great shower for that.
